I do beg your pardon.... has... has anyone seen Lord Peter and Lady Gamora?

I haven't seen them all day... but I don't know where they are and they didn't leave any note. [Which... isn't like her surrogate parents. But perhaps they eloped rather than trying for a big ceremony. Alice is trying to remain positive on the matter.]

If you see them, could you please let them know I saved them the sandwiches I made for dinner. [Alice isn't allowed to use the stove alone.]

I waited, I did try.

This is Asterios.

I am asking for advice.

I want to do the jobs. But I am not sure which job would be better for this place.

Cultivators or Sentinels. I can use strength for both. I am very strong.

When it comes to fights, I can lose myself to madness.

But for farming, I scare people, difficult to work with them.

What would be better for Asgard? What would be better for everyone else?

[It's Ariadne posting, so no matter how carefully she's planned her speech, the first few moments of the feed are nothing but her fumbling with her bracelet, trying to properly get herself into the frame.

But there's something very new this time.

It's Ariadne.

Her face is the same as always, except for the fact that it's green. Green as the underside of a maple leaf. And her hair is candy-floss blue. So that's...not normal. And while some of you have seen this look on her, the vast majority have not. She's been careful. Maybe even paranoid.

And from the grimace on her face, she looks very, very guilty.]

So. I've been lying. For a very long time. I don't feel bad about it. Not exactly. But I never felt good about it either.

This...this is me. What I actually am. I'm Alastrian. We're harmless, really. And I would never hurt anyone. Even if I look...well...a little different. And I won't. I mean, it's just easier to look Human. But I wanted to tell the truth. Because I feel like I've been stealing someone's face. Because it looks like we're all going to be here a long time. And because...well. I guess I just wondered what it would be like to live a more honest life.

[She pauses, clearly a little overwhelmed by all of this.]

I'm sorry I lied.

[ The feed starts with Jim greeting the viewers with bright blue eyes and a smile. He’s at the farm, in what looks like an office he’s managed to put together, sitting at a desk with journals and various papers scattered across the surface. ]

Hello, Asgard. For those who don’t know me, I’m Captain James Kirk. That’s Klaus Hargreeves over there.

[ He motions behind him, to where Klaus is busy… doing something or other in the background. Klaus abandons whatever he’s doing to approach the desk and greet their viewers properly. ]

Hey, hi, hello! [ An enthusiastic fingergunning motion with the hand not holding a pen. ] So, I was talking to a friend of mine, uh, however long ago about how we really need something to tell the days apart. Like, obviously, we already know when it’s daytime and nighttime, even without having to go back to our godhauses during the latter, but we don’t… have anything like a calendar?

Which is why we’re here. [ Klaus twirls the writing utensil between his fingers then points it toward Jim, evidently quite pleased with their progress already. ] Working together on something to help all of us out in the long run.

Of course, we want your guys’ opinions of how we should go about this since not everybody’s worlds are the same. [ Another gesture toward his partner, that way Jim knows he can take the floor once he’s finished for the moment. ]

[ Jim nods along to Klaus’s explanation, waiting for him to finish to continue talking. ]

I realize this might seem pointless to some of you, but maybe not all. So what we’re curious about is what measures of time you use in your world, if any at all. I’ve noticed that most places measure it through hours, days, weeks, months and years, which is more or less how we do it where I’m from. It goes like this…

Sixty seconds makes up one minute, sixty minutes makes up one hour, and twenty-four hours makes up one day. Each week has seven days, and a month can have anywhere between twenty-eight and thirty-one days. A year has 365 or 366 days. However, space travel is fairly commonplace where I’m from, so we also use stardates, which is a more universal way to measure time across all planets that are either part of or allied with Federation space, or in some way related to the Federation.

I’m curious to hear about how everyone measures time where they’re from. If you have a calendar, and how it works. How long are your days and years, if you have them at all. And if you don’t measure time at all where you’re from, why is that? How do you keep track of events that happened, or events that will happen in the future? Or is time just a construct your species doesn’t adhere to in general?

[ Jim realizes he’s rambling like a nerd sssssoooo he shuts up to let Klaus get a word in if he wants to, and finish the announcement for the both of them. ]

As you can see, we’re both pretty excited about it! I think it’s safe to say, we’d ideally like to get something on the bracelets that’s easily accessible to everyone. [ He glances toward Jim for confirmation, somehow grinning even wider. ] Until then, [ A beat while he plucks up a piece of paper with haphazardly written numbers, ] it’ll be good ol’ reliable paper.

We can definitely ask the gods about making as many copies as necessary, I think. Pretty sure they won’t mind? If so, then no worries, we’ve got this. [ Their hands will certainly be tired afterward, but hey, worth it! ]

Thanks, as always, for your attention, you lovely people!

[When the camera gets turned on, the first thing to note is that Ivar's face is streaked in blood that has only just started to dry in places. Someone's been out worshiping with the natives in a fashion very familiar to a Viking. If y'all hadn't gotten the impression Ivar was a bloodthirsty barbarian from a bygone era, the imagery is definitely reinforced with the dripping red streaks on his face. Also is that some around his lips as well? Has he been drinking the stuff too? Honestly, though, he seems quite pleased by what's been going on even if everyone else might be disturbed by the casual slaughter of the cows. His tone starts off very serious, since worship is important where he's from.]

About time this place started getting some proper worship going. I know most of you all are from soft places-- [The scorn in his tone is obvious.] --but blood sacrifices are always the best when giving due diligence to these gods where I am from. Blood demands blood, especially if you want them to be on your side in battle, or to favor you at all. It's really not all that different then slaughtering animals for food, just with more rituals and rites to it.

[Then he switches back to his usual tone that ranges somewhere between insanity and half-truths end tends to indulge in.]

It's a good thing we finally got the right sort of animals around here. Otherwise, I might have had to resort to sacrificing one of you. [He muses for a moment before laughing.] I'm joking of course! [Beat.] Human sacrifices only work if they're willing participants.

[OOC: This post is for a general discussion, so feel free to have threads amongst all the characters and thread-jacking rather then just talking with Ivar. Do let me know if you do want a specific thread with him! He has rather...strong opinions about this.]

[ Jim greets the network with a warm, friendly smile. Clearly he's no stranger to these sorts of broadcasts, and even the solid holoscreen is something that he's very used to, which makes it much easier to adapt. ]

Hello, everyone. To those of you who don't know me, which is probably most of you, I'm Captain James T. Kirk. I've arrived fairly recently and I'm still finding my bearings and getting used to this place. It's all very different from what I'm used to, so it's taking a while.

Right now, I'm having trouble with one thing in particular, and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help with that. See, where I'm from, we have this device called a replicator, which can be used to recycle all kinds of materials and replicate anything you might need. It's very commonly used to replicate food and produce, or even whole meals ready for consumption, for instance. Now, some people do still cook, but I live on board a starship, and we use replicators all the time to get our meals. I can't remember the last time I've cooked something.

[ A pause, then he adds sheepishly. ] ... actually, the only thing I've ever cooked was meat roasted over fire during a camping trip, and that was... a while ago. My point being, I-- don't know how to cook. But it doesn't look like I have many options around here, so I was wondering if a kind soul would be willing to teach me the basics, at the very least.

I don't have much to offer in return, but I can, uh... play chess, play the guitar, sing, and I know some basic hand-to-hand combat. Alternately, I could just share stories about things I've seen and done out there in space, with my crew. Or anything else you might want or need. I could even cook you a meal as thanks once I get the hang it.

[ A bright smile, and he salutes the holoscreen recording his message. ] Hit me up if you're interested. Kirk out.

[ When the video feed turns on, it's a wide shot of Honir standing there wearing this with his arms outstretched. He turns in a little circle before facing the camera again, and the whole time, there's this gleeful grin on his face like he's having the time of his life. ]

Look at this! Isn't it fun?

[ He finally clamors closer to the camera, sitting in frame to beam his enthusiasm directly to your screen. ]

You mortals have so many different ways of covering your bodies. I don't really get it, but it's still exciting. This one feels nice! It's called a hanfu, they said.

[ He lifts his arms again and flaps them just a little, looking from side to side with joyful amusement at the prospect of… sleeves? Apparently? ]

What other clothes do you have? Can I try them?

[ A… totally normal question from a totally normal… god?? ]

[ OOC: responses will likely be slow as is my norm, sorry ;; but this is a silly small thing I wanted to toss up real quick! Ye Zun taught the natives how to make this traditional Chinese garb, and other characters are welcome to introduce elements of their own fashion to the city as well! let us know if you have any questions about this on the player plot page! ]
