[ The feed clicks on to show Peter chilling by his ship in Vænnstaðr's park; he has a crossbow, blueprints and some metal pieces scattered on top of the crate next to him. For those looking at the ship behind the man, they might notice that there's moss growing on one side already and that Peter has put some plants on the roof to appease the resident Goddess -- because Skadi is a very scary, scary lady. ]
Ey there! Does anybody know how to turn a normal crossbow into an automatic one? Rocket was the weapon expert of the team and I'm more used to Quad blasters and arrows that fly on their own. [ Peter's smile wavers a little after that, remembering the owner of a said arrow, but it only lasts a second. ]
Anyway! I'm also curious about what kind of powers everyone has developed after being in the city for a while. It looks like there's quite a variety and lately, we've been discussing ways to protect ourselves in case of an emergency, as well as the need to evacuate the citizens quickly. One idea is to build big enough carriages and ships to transport people but these need to be protected too.
One of the wings of my ship is... [ The Guardian turns the camera so it focuses on the broken wing, half attached to the ship due to the twisted metal, some cables, and its inner structure. ] ...totally useless now but the turbines could be turned into wind turbines and the metal panels could be used to reinforce the carriages.
[ Do you want a medieval tank, guys? Because this how you get a medieval tank. ]
Problem is, I tried with axes and other blunt methods but I can't break it down on my own. That's why I was asking if anybody has powers strong enough to cut metal or melt it.
[ He turns the camera back to show himself and now that the angle has changed, it shows how there's a caracal lying on top of the intact wing of the ship as if she's sunbathing without any care in the world. Peter is seemingly oblivious to it all, not even looking concerned when the creature yawns and stretches, showing some really sharp fangs and claws. ]
Any kind of help would be welcome.

Automatic crossbows come with a mechanism where you can place various arrows at the same time, and it allows you to shoot several times in quick succession before having to reload them.
It's very useful if you are firing against an opponent that is either big or fast, like the dragon that attacked us some weeks ago. Less time reloading means less chances to get killed while your weapons is unusable.

Still, he appreciates it. Even if he doesn't show it.]
I'm not sure about holding many arrows at once, but my nephew once possessed a crossbow with a sort of crank to draw the string back more easily. A dreadful weapon, really.

The more arrows the heavier it gets but some swords can be just as hard to handle if no more. I'm not very good with those, I'll probably end cutting my own nose if I tried to use them on the regular.
Oh that weapons sounds practical too.
[ And then it dawns on him he hasn't tell people his name. ]
I'm Peter Quill, nice to meet you by the way.

[Oh, and we're doing introductions. Okay. Jaime still isn't used to introducing himself over video. This whole "I can see you but you aren't actually in front of me" thing just really doesn't seem like something that should exist.
He'll just... nod his head respectfully?]
Ser Jaime Lannister.

[ Just think about the little screen as some some of play, Jaime. It's only that the actors are a bit more far away than usual. ]
Oh, that's quite the impressive name. Are you from Melisandre's world, by any chance?
no subject
You've met the Red Woman? Yes, she's of my world, but I had not met her until arriving here.
no subject
I did, the first time I was here. [ They get along very well, Peter would even call is friend ship. Which made it all the more painful once she disappeared. ] I haven't seen her in a while, perhaps she founds a way back home. But knowing you are from the same place, I have a better understanding of your world.

Red priests rarely stay anywhere long, in my experience. She would likely say that if her god needed her to be somewhere, then not even the bindings of this world would stop her.
[She seemed nice enough, if a bit weird. Still, it was nice to have someone from home to speak to that wasn't a Stark or their associates.]
But if I see her again, I'll thank her for saving me some time in explaining where we came from.

She was the first I only one I've ever met. An interesting woman, that for sure.
[ Peter doesn't know a lot about the politic sphere of her world, just that it was kind of messy and there are a lot of wars, backstabbing, and unexpected alliances. Enough for him to decide it's not his place to judge or even form an opinion. ]
The giant monstrosity of a throne that showed up here when odd objects were falling from the sky was also remarkable. Do people really sit in it' Without cutting themselves constantly?
no subject
[Peter's assumptions of his world's politics is remarkably spot on, but he doesn't know the half of it.]
So you've seen the Iron Throne too. Supposedly being able to sit in it without getting cut is the mark of a true king. It was meant to be that way, something about representing the danger of the crown.
[Jaime sits back in his own chair-- one made of wood with soft cushions thankfully.]
It still amazes me, the number of people who have died for that chair. If only they knew how uncomfortable it was.
no subject
[ He knows enough to pity you all. A home torn by war is never a pleasant one to live, he's way to familiar with that. ]
I'm still trying to forget it. If that's why it was built that way then...Ouch. Being a good leader requires more than just that, if you ask me.
[ Jaime has good taste. ]
You spoke like someone who has firsthand experience. You sure you're not a king?
no subject
[Does he have good taste? He's had good minders for most of his life at least, and he's at least learned that he looks good in his family's colors, evidenced by the deep burgundy button-down he's currently wearing. All he needs is to find someone to embroider his family crest on it.]
But you're somewhat right, at least. I'm not a king, but I've served five.
no subject
[ Jaime will have to forget Peter's bluntness. He's met far too many people like the one he described, including his own father, to have much patience for them anymore. ]
Five. That doesn't sound like an easy feat.
no subject
[If dads would pull their collective heads out of their asses, the world would be a better place.]
And you're right. I murdered the first and the other four were family. It was anything but easy.
no subject
[ Hard agree, yes. ]
Working with family never is. I don't suppose you've seent he tv show Dallas?
Did the first King deserve to die?
no subject
[Late 80s references will not work on someone basically from the medieval era of another universe.]
As for the first king, well... he was called the Mad King for a reason. I was far from the only person with the desire to see him dead, just the one with the opportunity to act on it.
no subject
[ Peter's used to explain things, no one got his references while in space either. ]
With a tittle like that one can only expect trouble. I'm surprised you survived, even mad Kings have followers.
