Video; Where's The Laughter in Slaughter?
[When the camera gets turned on, the first thing to note is that Ivar's face is streaked in blood that has only just started to dry in places. Someone's been out worshiping with the natives in a fashion very familiar to a Viking. If y'all hadn't gotten the impression Ivar was a bloodthirsty barbarian from a bygone era, the imagery is definitely reinforced with the dripping red streaks on his face. Also is that some around his lips as well? Has he been drinking the stuff too? Honestly, though, he seems quite pleased by what's been going on even if everyone else might be disturbed by the casual slaughter of the cows. His tone starts off very serious, since worship is important where he's from.]
About time this place started getting some proper worship going. I know most of you all are from soft places-- [The scorn in his tone is obvious.] --but blood sacrifices are always the best when giving due diligence to these gods where I am from. Blood demands blood, especially if you want them to be on your side in battle, or to favor you at all. It's really not all that different then slaughtering animals for food, just with more rituals and rites to it.
[Then he switches back to his usual tone that ranges somewhere between insanity and half-truths end tends to indulge in.]
It's a good thing we finally got the right sort of animals around here. Otherwise, I might have had to resort to sacrificing one of you. [He muses for a moment before laughing.] I'm joking of course! [Beat.] Human sacrifices only work if they're willing participants.
[OOC: This post is for a general discussion, so feel free to have threads amongst all the characters and thread-jacking rather then just talking with Ivar. Do let me know if you do want a specific thread with him! He has rather...strong opinions about this.]

At some point one of the cows might get closer to Peter and stares at the camera over his shoulder, Blanche is the curious sort. Peter smiles at Sigyn's reaction and pats the piggy's head softly. ]
Alive is always better. This one's name is Bowie, you're free to pet him to your heart content, miss. I'm sure the others around the city might like that as well. Thank you, that will be really helpful. I've been keeping them in my ship but animals like to roam around.

( Her faces draws closer, peering into the large and black eye of Blanche, there. Something about how dark and open it is is entrancing to her; kind of mystical in a way. )
I can offer them food and shelter, but the specifics of care...I don't know how to do that on my own. It will require workers. Volunteers. If you can find the people who will commit themselves to the work, a sanctuary for these animals would be perfectly sustainable.

[ At this point, Peter's so used to the cow showing up next to him when he least expects it that he only makes a brief double-take when he looks over his shoulder. She moos softly at the camera, and peter pats her neck twice before his attention returns to the goddess. ]
Blanche likes you already. I know a few people who might be able to help and we can teach the locals here. I'm sure we can work out a system that works for all of us. Maybe a bit of trial an error first but as long as the animals have food and shelter, the basics are covered.
I have no idea how to milk cows, though, that fact made itself painfully obvious a few days ago.

Milk a cow? I understand it in theory, but not in practice. Shouldn't you just be able to--
( With her hands, she makes a grabbing and pulling gesture. The concept of a mother producing and sharing milk isn't foreign, but the anatomy of a cow makes it feel awkward in demonstration. Eventually she shrugs. ) But maybe it's a gift best asked for, first.

Yeahhh...tried it. The cow slapped my face with her tail and then moved away. Maybe my hands were cold. But I'm sure I'll get the gist of it eventually.

( Through osmosis and reading the network (such a wild place, where Wanderers talk about anything and everything, it seems), Sigyn knows that the Wanderers have been in search of a wider variety of foods, milk being something that's come up before. It's perhaps a potential commodity that Wanderers will really enjoy and look for.
It's decided. )
Once the animals have been moved to my domain, it'll be at the top of my list of activities. I'll make it a day of milk. The mystery will be solved, indubitably.

[ A wild but fun place! And Sigyn should also take a list at the network's music list and enjoy herself. ]
I really can't thank you enough for allowing us to host the animals there. And once we have milk, we will be able to make ice-cream and milkshakes. Those are one of the best foods ever.

I've tried some of the food you Wanderers have made and requested. Cake! Cake tastes...if my Goddess essence could have a taste, I'd want it to taste like cake. ( Sigyn has in fact tried to eat the dirt of her domain, and spoiler alert: it does not taste like cake. But! She may or may not have her own personal sugar cane plots thanks to the introduction of glaze and frosting into the world. If kindness had a flavor you could sense on your tongue, it would be sugar, she thinks. ) If those are anything like cake, I can't wait.

That's...really cute. And I think it's very fitting too. There are so many different kinds of cakes. I think chocolate cake with orange filling is my favorite. [ Sigyn, no, dirt isn't tasty and it might have worms! ] They're similar in taste but ice cream is cold and you eat it by licking it, and milkshakes are liquid. I'll make you some as soon as we can, as a token for my gratitude.
[ He's not terrible at cooking since he's been preparing his own food for years, and desserts are something Peter knows how to do. ]
no subject
I'll hold you to it.
( And if they aren't delivered promptly enough, there may be some needling involved. )
I think cake is how I'd like to be worshipped, actually. We've established I'm not so impressed with the sacrifices...but a variety of cake would be a welcome substitute. Especially this chocolate kind I've yet to try.
no subject
I expect nothing less from you, miss.
[ Fair enough, Peter would understand the nagging because cake is just that good. ]
Oh that's a the kind of worshiping I can get behind. Definitely superior. I'll get on that and stop pestering you.
