Video; Where's The Laughter in Slaughter?
[When the camera gets turned on, the first thing to note is that Ivar's face is streaked in blood that has only just started to dry in places. Someone's been out worshiping with the natives in a fashion very familiar to a Viking. If y'all hadn't gotten the impression Ivar was a bloodthirsty barbarian from a bygone era, the imagery is definitely reinforced with the dripping red streaks on his face. Also is that some around his lips as well? Has he been drinking the stuff too? Honestly, though, he seems quite pleased by what's been going on even if everyone else might be disturbed by the casual slaughter of the cows. His tone starts off very serious, since worship is important where he's from.]
About time this place started getting some proper worship going. I know most of you all are from soft places-- [The scorn in his tone is obvious.] --but blood sacrifices are always the best when giving due diligence to these gods where I am from. Blood demands blood, especially if you want them to be on your side in battle, or to favor you at all. It's really not all that different then slaughtering animals for food, just with more rituals and rites to it.
[Then he switches back to his usual tone that ranges somewhere between insanity and half-truths end tends to indulge in.]
It's a good thing we finally got the right sort of animals around here. Otherwise, I might have had to resort to sacrificing one of you. [He muses for a moment before laughing.] I'm joking of course! [Beat.] Human sacrifices only work if they're willing participants.
[OOC: This post is for a general discussion, so feel free to have threads amongst all the characters and thread-jacking rather then just talking with Ivar. Do let me know if you do want a specific thread with him! He has rather...strong opinions about this.]

[ Who had exactly none, as far as she could tell. Or at least, had one that was about punching people in the face. ]
Absolutely. Me and Ivar are going to go and test it out on Honir the first time. See how it goes. Then its chicken time, baby.

[ Which is to say: No, Skadi wouldn't find a joke amusing even if it hit her in the head with a mallet. The mention of Ivar has Peter not only looking more relaxed but actually leaning in a bit and smiling. He's totally going to ignore the most-likely-to-happen chicken murder. ]
Ohhh...you and my roommate are getting to know each other more closely? Good to hear.
[ Peter's not saying that Ivar's stress level wouldn't benefit from getting laid but...probably the whole city would benefit form that. Besides, he does like Ivar, so he wants to see the other man happy. ]

[ WINK WONK. But no really, she's breezy with it. She does like Ivar, as much as Gaige gets having friends as a concept. Which she did, truth be told, have some of the best friends in the galaxy if you were to ask her.
But they were few among the many that had inevitably betrayed the vault hunters or tried to kill them, so at this point, it's a little skewed. ] Pretty sure we've basically made a blood pact to kill the next dragon that turns up. Or if anyone decides they want to hire me to kill something after all.
no subject
[ SURPRISINGLY, they really do.
Ah, well, sometimes new friendship start with some chicken murder, it seems. Lots of Peter ones started with people trying to murder him, and that includes his current girlfriend and love of his life, Gamora. ]
An interesting start. I'm still concerned about that dragon who showed up a few days ago and then disappeared, who knows what might be plotting. Count on me to help deal with it too if it shows up trying to burn us all.

I'll make sure. I mean, you're the dude that looked like a Tyrant, right? When I was a skag.
[ Even so, she shrugs. ]
Something awful. ... Uh, have you fought giant monsters? Please tell me someone else fights giant monsters.
no subject
If a Tyrant is what your people call 'giant lizard with very sharp teeth and huge as ball talons' then yeah, that was me. It was weird but fun.
[ He gives a short but quick nod. ]
Yeeep. All kinds! Got paid to stop a few of them who were attacking people, others just attacked my team at random and we had to blew them up to survive. Some smell really bad, specially when their inside turn out to be their outsides. I come from space, though, so we fight them in different planets.
no subject
[ Because that's a sentence. ]
Yeah, same deal. I mean I also get paid to kill like, random bandits and shit, odd jobs here and there. But mostly the Vault Hunter bizz is fighting the shit no one else wants too.
no subject
[ Says a lot about Peter's life that it sounds like a completely normal explanation to him. ]
Sounds a bit like what the Ravagers do as well. Not a glamorous job but someone needs to do it. What's the name of your homeworld, planet...?

Tall brunette, metal arm, a bit weird...
no subject
Yeah, I know the guy. He's from my home planet, Eden-5. But we never met before we turned up here, actually.
no subject
Pandora sounds like a hell of a place to live. Do you like it better here?
no subject
Kinda. I mean. It's weird. You get used to one set of rules for the galaxy, and bam gotta adjust to a new one. So iunno if it's better here, or just different. Seems like the stakes are the same, though.
no subject
Yeah, I agree. It's hard enough to survive when you know the ropes but this city is always throwing us curve balls. First a dragon and then god curses. And now animal murder.
no subject
You need some help on shit like that, BTW? Dealing with curveballs is basically why people hire Vault Hunters.
Probs why I don't get why everyone is so upset about some animals biting it.
no subject
[ THANKS, DAD. ]
Nah, I'm good so far but it never hurts to know you're available too if an extra hand is needed. You can always contact me too if you need a hand. Are Vault Hunter like mercenaries?
Mostly because there's a limited number of animals, we don't know where they came from or if we will ever get more, waking up to find the streets and your house door covered in blood is freaky ...and because the animals are adorable.
no subject
[ The insane ones, the ones left standing, the ones that fight like there is nothing else to live for -
- Or that's how Zer0 or Maya might put it. Gaige just knows what she's good at. ]
First two I get, sure. The third one? Ehhhhhh, it's not like anyone is asking them to be covered in blood so it sounds a lot like 'I don't understand it and it scares me and blood is bad'. Pffft.
no subject
[ He gets it, he really does. Life isn't all rainbows in certain sectors of the galaxy and people do what it takes to survive. Peter only wishes that things were different, that they could improve in some way. It's what the Guardians try to accomplish. But sometimes some things, some places, some people...they are are just broken. ]
Blood can be a shocking sight for those unprepared but now, well...it doesn't matter what we think of it as much as what the Gods decide to do about this. We can only wait.
no subject
[ PFFT. Because he's... right. Pandora is broken, it'll never be fixed. Because what requires making it fixed Jack had tried and the only way was to make it worse. And the people that survived it, came out the other side, were soaked through to become what was required to live that kind of life. ]
Well, I hope no one yells at the local people too much, it's not their fault other people aren't used to it.
no subject
[ Although if Gaige and Ivar keep hanging around together, who knows if that would happen in Asgard as well. ]
I think most people are now their distance from the locals, so there's no real yelling.
[ ooc: maybe we can start wrapping this one up? C: ]
no subject
[ As if that was the real problem here. ]
Hopefully. I mean, I plan on go joining their party soon. I gotta go find something to wear.
[ ooc: sounds good to me. ]
no subject
[ Said the ex-thief. ]
Wear something you don't particularly like if it's going to end covered in blood.
[ Or if certain viking is going to tear it off of her, but that not here nor there. ]
See you around, Gaige!
[ ooc: thank ya! ]
