Video; Where's The Laughter in Slaughter?

[When the camera gets turned on, the first thing to note is that Ivar's face is streaked in blood that has only just started to dry in places. Someone's been out worshiping with the natives in a fashion very familiar to a Viking. If y'all hadn't gotten the impression Ivar was a bloodthirsty barbarian from a bygone era, the imagery is definitely reinforced with the dripping red streaks on his face. Also is that some around his lips as well? Has he been drinking the stuff too? Honestly, though, he seems quite pleased by what's been going on even if everyone else might be disturbed by the casual slaughter of the cows. His tone starts off very serious, since worship is important where he's from.]

About time this place started getting some proper worship going. I know most of you all are from soft places-- [The scorn in his tone is obvious.] --but blood sacrifices are always the best when giving due diligence to these gods where I am from. Blood demands blood, especially if you want them to be on your side in battle, or to favor you at all. It's really not all that different then slaughtering animals for food, just with more rituals and rites to it.

[Then he switches back to his usual tone that ranges somewhere between insanity and half-truths end tends to indulge in.]

It's a good thing we finally got the right sort of animals around here. Otherwise, I might have had to resort to sacrificing one of you. [He muses for a moment before laughing.] I'm joking of course! [Beat.] Human sacrifices only work if they're willing participants.

[OOC: This post is for a general discussion, so feel free to have threads amongst all the characters and thread-jacking rather then just talking with Ivar. Do let me know if you do want a specific thread with him! He has rather...strong opinions about this.]

I'm not sure if I'm the right person to ask that. [ Since the amount of revenge plans Chizuru has thought of or even actually carried out.. is zero. Pretty much zero.

But if the other is actually giving her a chance to change her mind here, then Chizuru sure is willing to try and think about it. Compromises! ]

But maybe you could lure the animals over there by using a trail of food? At least that way they don't have to die.

[ God she feels, so bad, who is this girl and who left her near Gaige of all fucking people? Even Gaige knows this is a bad idea, self aware to know what she is, isn't good. ]

[ Hey, Chizuru is old enough to know where meat comes from! It's just that the difference between killing animals for that and just killing them for revenge or unnecessary ritual reasons is pretty big in her mind.

Still, she seems genuinely appreciative at the other's answer. Thanks for your efforts in helping minimize animal suffering here, Gaige. ]

Yes.. thank you. You really are sweeter than some people might think. [ Maybe that's thinking a little too positively, but she means it. ]

[ God she feels like kicking a puppy. But not like Tina. It wasn't like Tina had a conscious, this way just - ]

Yeah, yeah. Don't get spreading it around, they'll start looking at you like you're crazy.

[ But she gives a big old smile, anyway, winking briefly despite herself. ]

[ That response actually makes her laugh slightly despite all the bad stuff that's been going on with these animals. It's very reminiscent of someone she knew from back home - in a good way. ]

Don't worry. It's our secret. [ Also said slightly jokingly, but then she gets more serious again. ] You're alright now though, right? You haven't randomly turned into something else again?

[ It hadn't happened to Chizuru at all even when it happened to other people, so she has no idea if there were any after effects. ]

[ She rolls her shoulders back as if she might still feel those great spines in her back. ]

Yeah, fine now. I got turned into a skag, that's a big psycho dog-like thing from my planet, then a fire skag. Same deal, just, on fire. Pretty weird. Think I ate a fork? Yeah. That was sort of weird to throw back up.

[ Because anyone wants this information. Gaige please, don't horrify the small girl. ]

You're okay, though? Nothing weird happened to you?

Yes, it seems I was lucky enough to escape having to deal with that.. [ Although she still went out of her way to help out others who were turned into animals, because that's just what Chizuru does. The fact Gaige asked makes her smile a little though. ]

.. Are you sure you shouldn't get yourself checked up on at the hospital or something? I'm not sure having eaten metal can be good for you..

[ Even if she did throw it back up. Which is a fact Chizuru would like to not think about too deeply, thanks. ]

..... I mean... maybe? Do you think I should? I mean I threw the fork back up, and skags usually do that, but I don't know, guess skags don't usually turn back into people.

[ She may be a doctor's daughter, but her medical knowledge doesn't go far enough to know whether or not that could still be dangerous.. Especially when there's turning-into-animals magic involved. Especially the latter. So.. ]

It can't hurt to get checked out, right? Just in case! It would be no good if you suddenly got really sick.. [ Even though the gods may be able to help in that case, but she'd rather not take the risk. ] If you think going by yourself and maybe having to wait there is boring, I wouldn't mind coming with you.
