NPC POST: YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND

[ When the video feed turns on, it's a wide shot of Honir standing there wearing this with his arms outstretched. He turns in a little circle before facing the camera again, and the whole time, there's this gleeful grin on his face like he's having the time of his life. ]

Look at this! Isn't it fun?

[ He finally clamors closer to the camera, sitting in frame to beam his enthusiasm directly to your screen. ]

You mortals have so many different ways of covering your bodies. I don't really get it, but it's still exciting. This one feels nice! It's called a hanfu, they said.

[ He lifts his arms again and flaps them just a little, looking from side to side with joyful amusement at the prospect of… sleeves? Apparently? ]

What other clothes do you have? Can I try them?

[ A… totally normal question from a totally normal… god?? ]

[ OOC: responses will likely be slow as is my norm, sorry ;; but this is a silly small thing I wanted to toss up real quick! Ye Zun taught the natives how to make this traditional Chinese garb, and other characters are welcome to introduce elements of their own fashion to the city as well! let us know if you have any questions about this on the player plot page! ]

[ As far as Honir's concerned, the approval of any Wanderer is a huge win. He grins, delighted. ]

Fur, like dead animals, right? I can see that making a very nice cape! Wouldn't it make your hands fuzzy if it was on the inside of gloves, though?

[ Having hands at all is still very strange to him, so he's not sure how that works. ]

That's the point! It gets very cold where I live and no one wants to lose a finger to frostbite. So if you skin an animal the right way, you can have leather on the outside of the gloves to protect your hands while you're outdoors and fur on the inside to keep them warm.

[Come, Honir, let him inform you of the latest in Viking fashion like fur and chainmail.]

[ Honir's face lights up as understanding dawns across it, like yes, okay, this makes perfect sense. Teach him everything, Ivar! (Except maybe not everything-everything.) ]

Oh, that is very good to know! It can get quite cold here sometimes, and we definitely want you to keep your fingers. We don't have many animals to skin right now but could you teach us the right way?

[Well, now he'll just need to explain it all to Honir. How many times does he have a willing audience like this?]

Of course I can. If we ever get anything with decent fur here like a rabbit or bear, it'll be good for everyone to know. Also leather is good material to work with. Very versatile. You can create a lot out of it like boots or vests.

[He pulls back as far as he can to show off the one he was wearing when he was brought here. It's leather-based with some fur lining the inside and arm holes. For some reason, there's also chainmail on it, but only on one shoulder.]

[ He marvels at the feed as Ivar shows off his gear, leaning this way and that as though it'll give him a better view of the clothes. (It does, in a way; it may be easy to forget this excitable creature is a god.) ]

That looks so warm and fluffy! But won't your arms fall off now?

[ How does this "cold" thing work? ]

Fall off? Why would they fall off? [It takes a minute to understand what Honir is misunderstanding.] No. Human beings generally don't lose limbs unless the cold gets so bad it's threatening your life. At that point, there's usually bigger concerns like trying to stay alive. It's why always having lots of warm layers is important.

You humans are so complex! Sturdy and fragile at the same time, and clever enough to figure out how to survive either way.

Human beings are indeed complicated creatures both in body and mind. We are weaker then almost any animal but smart enough to kill them as well.
