[ When the video feed turns on, it's a wide shot of Honir standing there wearing this with his arms outstretched. He turns in a little circle before facing the camera again, and the whole time, there's this gleeful grin on his face like he's having the time of his life. ]

Look at this! Isn't it fun?

[ He finally clamors closer to the camera, sitting in frame to beam his enthusiasm directly to your screen. ]

You mortals have so many different ways of covering your bodies. I don't really get it, but it's still exciting. This one feels nice! It's called a hanfu, they said.

[ He lifts his arms again and flaps them just a little, looking from side to side with joyful amusement at the prospect of… sleeves? Apparently? ]

What other clothes do you have? Can I try them?

[ A… totally normal question from a totally normal… god?? ]

[ OOC: responses will likely be slow as is my norm, sorry ;; but this is a silly small thing I wanted to toss up real quick! Ye Zun taught the natives how to make this traditional Chinese garb, and other characters are welcome to introduce elements of their own fashion to the city as well! let us know if you have any questions about this on the player plot page! ]

I have some clothes because my brother says we should wear them, but they're more like the idea of clothes.

Well, there are definitely times when you shouldn't wear them, but clothes can be pretty useful at times. Most humanoid species are vulnerable to things such as the weather or even many other dangers around us, clothes help protect us. It's also a matter of modesty to some, of course, but that's more of a cultural thing. Many types of clothing have evolved to mean other things, too.

[ He nods, expression more honest than teasing now. ]

I'm sure I can think of a few things for you to try on too, if you can manage to create them.

[ Honir is enraptured by his explanation, following along with a nod of his head like yeah, yeah okay. Ivar had mentioned the cold earlier, this is all starting to make a kind of sense! How exciting!

Then Jim says 'if you can manage,' and the god bursts into laughter. It's not mean or mocking; it's like the captain told the punchline to a joke and Honir is the only one that got it. ]

I can, I can! It's - ha! This sounds like a fun game, we should try it. Your own fashion show!

[ Go, you! Let's do it! ]

[ Jim doesn't feel particularly offended. There's a kind of positive energy in that laughter that's almost contagious, and he finds himself grinning and chuckling too, not taking it the least to heart. ]

Alright, then! Let's do it. I mean, it's not like there's a lot to keep me busy around here, so far.

[ He'll eventually find a hundred different things to keep his hands and mind busy, he knows, but for now there's no harm in getting to know the place and the people better-- his House God included. ]

Well... I wouldn't say bored so much as just-- I just don't have a lot to keep me busy here. And I'm used to traveling around where I'm from. I don't know how restless I'll get if my stay here extends for much longer.

[ He lifts his shoulders, nodding slowly. ] I wouldn't say no to some distractions. And yes, the fashion show will definitely help.
