[ When the video feed turns on, it's a wide shot of Honir standing there wearing this with his arms outstretched. He turns in a little circle before facing the camera again, and the whole time, there's this gleeful grin on his face like he's having the time of his life. ]

Look at this! Isn't it fun?

[ He finally clamors closer to the camera, sitting in frame to beam his enthusiasm directly to your screen. ]

You mortals have so many different ways of covering your bodies. I don't really get it, but it's still exciting. This one feels nice! It's called a hanfu, they said.

[ He lifts his arms again and flaps them just a little, looking from side to side with joyful amusement at the prospect of… sleeves? Apparently? ]

What other clothes do you have? Can I try them?

[ A… totally normal question from a totally normal… god?? ]

What we looked like before?

[ He tilts his head in thought. ]

Well, I guess we looked like this, but my clothes were different because I don't really know what clothes are supposed to look like and I don't fully understand why you have to wear them. And then before that, we didn't look anything like this at all!

[ The oddly blunt truth, with a wistful laugh at the end. Ah, existence. ]

I guess you've never heard of fashion, have you. [ here, a statement rather than a question. ]

That would cause quite the outrage back in Paris.

I'm intrigued by the before. [ which is why, clearly, he moves to peer more intently at the video. ] What did you look like before the ribbons and the facial hair and our arrival?

[ When Vanitas moves closer to the camera, so does Honir, almost like they're children conspiring about some secret - but he's doing it less to share valuable knowledge and more because if Vanitas is doing it then it must be the thing to do? ]

Oh, I had - hmm, more arms, but they weren't like these arms.

[ He lifts his again in a vague flap. ]

And I was mostly made of air and clouds. Oh! I had wings too! Sort of. They weren't like bird wings or dragon wings.

[ He sounds excited and wistful at the same time, while also scrunching his nose at the struggle of explaining what they were when they weren't really tangible in so finite a way as they are now. ]

[ See, now Vanitas will simply raise a gloved hand and wriggle his fingers at Honir, expression wry. ]

That doesn't sound aesthetically pleasing.

<b@>[ a moment's pause to let that charming remark sink in and, yeah, Vanitas clearly feels entirely comfortable judging local gods. He grins, even. ] I might be applying human standard sof beauty though.

Why do you look like this then? To speak with us? Sounds like being made of air and lightning bolts is a bit more exciting.

[ He doesn't know what an aesthetic is, but the idea of 'human standards of beauty' makes him giggle to himself. ]

It was very exciting, but so is being able to talk to you! We chose to look like this because -

[ Wistful turns to somber. ]

- because we took up too much space before, and we wanted to make enough room for you to be born.

[ Not exactly him specifically, but humanoids and mortals in general. Honir goes right back to smiling happily about it. ]
