NPC POST: YOU SPIN ME RIGHT ROUND
[ When the video feed turns on, it's a wide shot of Honir standing there wearing this with his arms outstretched. He turns in a little circle before facing the camera again, and the whole time, there's this gleeful grin on his face like he's having the time of his life. ]
Look at this! Isn't it fun?
[ He finally clamors closer to the camera, sitting in frame to beam his enthusiasm directly to your screen. ]
You mortals have so many different ways of covering your bodies. I don't really get it, but it's still exciting. This one feels nice! It's called a hanfu, they said.
[ He lifts his arms again and flaps them just a little, looking from side to side with joyful amusement at the prospect of… sleeves? Apparently? ]
What other clothes do you have? Can I try them?
[ A… totally normal question from a totally normal… god?? ]
[ OOC: responses will likely be slow as is my norm, sorry ;; but this is a silly small thing I wanted to toss up real quick! Ye Zun taught the natives how to make this traditional Chinese garb, and other characters are welcome to introduce elements of their own fashion to the city as well! let us know if you have any questions about this on the player plot page! ]

permavid!
Okay! Do you want to come here? Or do you want me to bring some there? Or -
[ He's not sure what other solutions there are right now but he wants them all! ]
also permavid!
Where-ever's the easiest for you to make those, I don't care. [She hasn't Internalised that this dude doesn't need a tailor-shop to make clothes.] I'm at Heimdall's outsider-houses, where are you?
no subject
[ He frowns in confusion. ]
Aren't all of our houses outside? Well, mine might not completely count, actually.
no subject
[Wen Qing's face appears back on the feed.]
Sure, I can go to the shop- how do I get there?
no subject
[ His directions are based off of inane comments about "fun" parts of the city, but if she follows it correctly, it is in fact the fastest route to the shop he's at in Frigg's district. ]
no subject
The hell is a "cute courtyard", they're all the same!
[Though she complains, she does turn at the sight of a fountain and so on. Assuming Honir's directions don't rely on having to pick the "cooler" lamppost out of a bunch of lampposts, she manages to get there.]
→ action!
Yay, you made it!
[ A proud thing, o God of Travel. ]

Wen Qing doesn't wave back. She walks up to Honir and gives him an obvious- and obviously unimpressed- once-over. As far as replicating the Chinese look goes, Honir is awful at it. He's got short hair and his weird Nordic face and of course the accent is ridiclous, so in light of all this she can hardly care about his hanfu being an inappropriate cut.]
Yes. It wasn't difficult.
So where did you get the clothes? [*You must pay your end of the deal before we visit Wuxia FashionLand.]
no subject
Right here! They're making some right now, even. It seems some of our Asgardians like them too!
no subject
[They're good clothes, Brent.
Wen Qing strides into the store to see what the locals are up to. The sight of her culture's clothes being made elicits the first sign of happiness of the day, even though she's a little perplexed at all the differences in technique and fabric she spots. But it can't be helped. It's better than having no reminder of home.
(Also, are there finished ones she can snag? Cus' she's going to if any are laying out.)]
These are fairly simple, but the fanciest styles take much longer to make. Okay. [Finally, addressing the Honir in the room.] There are dozens of styles, what do you want to know about? More colors, less colors- we have particular ceremonial clothes-
Or you can just get a hairpin in the shape of a tree. With- hm- leaves falling down, or birds.
no subject
(There are most certainly some she can take as well.)
He listens closely when she speaks, dazzled and a little dazed from keeping up with her pace. ]
Ooh, something like this?
[ He offers her what looks more like a comb than a hairpin, but it is made of a wiry, twisted tree with strands of leaves or birds trailing from the branches. ]
Although I don't really know how you're supposed to pin something to hair, how do you keep it from hurting your head?
no subject
Watch.
[Wen Qing raises her hands to her hair, which has been tied into a high ponytail that nonetheless falls to her back. With a few deft loops she winds her hair into a bun atop her head, and sinks the comb securely into it. When Wen Qing lets her hands fall, her hairdo magically stays put.
Just for the effect, she shakes her head a little to show that it's really secure.]
You could try with your hair. It wouldn't fit as many ornaments, but if you're careful it doesn't have to hurt.
no subject
That was amazing! You look amazing!
[ Basically. ]
I didn't know hair could be fun too!
no subject
Yes. You clearly don’t know enough if you didn’t even realise this. Even so, there should be something you can wear with short hair if you want-
[Hm. Something occurs to her.]
-have you thought about hats?
no subject
I've had no thoughts about hats until now. What kind should I try?
no subject
What kind of hat do you like?
