[There was a lot of pilfered alcohol, fumbled attempts, and finally resignation that had led to this video. Jessica wasn't great at asking for help, or showing that she didn't know what was going on, but this was so far out of her paygrade, she had no idea where to start. She'd poked around the library, but there were things that she couldn't learn there. Not really.
So the network is treated to a semi-annoyed looking dark-haired woman that some might find familiar. The introduction was minor.]
The name's Jessica Jones and I'm looking for- fuck -help with something. I can do this now-
[She'd never been one to shy away from showing what she could do or trying to hide it. She'd always been one of the more open freaks. But like she'd said to Spheeris, people felt safer when they could pretend they didn't know.
So for the camera, she made a fist with her right hand. A small line of concentration creased the middle of her brow and then - Woosh - a sword made of pure fire appeared in her hand. She didn't drop it, though she did flinch because that was never not going to be disturbing. She waved it around a bit. It looked a little like a scimitar, flaring white hot in the center. Then she opened her hand and it disappeared.]
-and that's great and all, but I don't know shit about swords or weapons or anything.
[She was doing an amazing job of not looking like that freaked her out.]
Who's gonna help me figure out how not to slice my other arm off?

[One of the perks of being highborn is that you get a master at arms! Besides, as part of the war council, he should probably set an example.]

[Pity her, Robb. She couldn't help it by this point. It was practically genetic.]

[But his voice is wry, not offended.]
Or a hunk of wood, for those who've only just begun learning.

[She was clearly going to have to have another chat with Ivar. A painful chat. Goddamn idiot.]

Lord John's expression is pinched with the urge to be polite mingled with the desire to see that she does not hurt herself. Which it appears as though she might very well do, waving it about like that.]
Madam.
[A word that should encompass a great many emotions all in one.]
Lord John Grey. Your servant, madam. I would be happy to assist you in any such training you require. Might I suggest...
[He pauses, before offering delicately:] Might I suggest that you do be careful in the meanwhile, however?

There was a long sigh before she responded.]
Jessica. Or just Jones if you have to be formal. [Because that was pretty formal in her world - ala military anyway.] I don't need a servant. I just need someone to make sure I don't put out an eye or something. Not exactly something I would have picked myself, but if this is what I'm stuck with, I kinda want to figure out the least way to screw myself with it.

Miss Jones. A figure of speech, I do apologize. But I quite understand what you mean. I too have found myself with a rather interesting ability I did not possess before. One moment.
[He steps back slightly so that he will be away from anything in the immediate vicinity, before drawing the saber at his side (thank you random objects that had rained from the sky). It takes some concentration, but the effort produces five spectral swords which proceed to sweep about him fast enough that they might seriously cut anyone who gets close.
He swings his sword deftly in his hand, offering her the quirk of a wry smile.]
It almost makes those decades of sword practice feel as though they were for naught. Though I'm grateful to have my own knowledge to be able to fall back on.
[The swords will time out in a moment, after all.]

[ An 8th century monk who lived a good portion of his life with Vikings is generally assuming most people are from the future especially when they use the strangest words like 'yoinked'. ]
It is good to learn to fight against different sorts of weapons anyway. You never know what your opponent might have.

Is that all it can be? A sword? ( Even if the answer is yes, that's still badass, but he has to ask. )

[She'd tried. Or, tried to get it to do something more than burn brightly at her. She'd wound up waving it around and setting a curtain on fire. That curtain was now in the dumpster. No witnesses.]

And it doesn't hurt? That's incredible. ( He's going to have to talk to someone about the cool factor on powers, because he can't touch his fire and it's not a god damn sword. ) How easy is it to control making it come or go? I assume that's the first step to saving your arm.

Woah, that's very cool! I can see why it's so dangerous, though. I really can't help because guns are more my thing but there's someone in the city who's a sword expert. His name is Ye Zun, you should be able to find his name listed in the network and contact him directly.

[The guy had seemed... uptight. And uptight didn't do well around Jessica Jones. Though, to be fair, no one did well around Jessica Jones. She sort of pushed everyone's buttons.]

Are you sure you can hurt yourself with the weapon, though? I know a wizard back home, Dr. Strange, and he did plenty of flashing spells like those, they only hurt his enemies. Maybe you won't get burned.I'm not telling you to test that theory, of course, but it's something to consider.
[ He points to the snake around his neck. ] Sandy can't poison me because she's my familiar, maybe other spells work that way.

[This is the best entertainment Ivar's had all day. Hey, it's not like they have cable around here, so he'll take what he can get. In a surprising turn, this is the most pleasant Ivar's ever been to her, if one can call demanding her do a trick like a dog for his amusement 'pleasant.']
