keybearing: (I need more affection than you know)

{4th Key; Video}

[Sora seems as happy as ever, probably excited about something or other again going by his usual timing of using the bracelet like this.....]

Hey guys! So, if I'm still figuring the timing about right, Valentines is coming up! I'm gonna make chocolates!

[No. Not just for his friends from home, either. Knowing Sora he probably faces that same thing with Christmas with wanting to do this for Everyone.......

Someone should really tell him to learn to calm it down. If that's even possible for him.]

Oh, right. Not everyone might get it. But, uh, Valentines is like a celebration of friends! Or more. If you have someone special! You get them flowers or chocolate and show you appreciate them! It's not as huge a thing as Christmas or anything, but. I still like it! And if I make too much chocolate, just means I can save some for later!

[So this is clearly just a win all around, right? Obviously.]

On the other hand, with my training lately, I figured I can do something else too! I don't think Riku was too thrilled though.... but I can help in fights by taking hits for others!

[......this is decidedly probably not something he should seem as thrilled about? But he is anyway. Because of course he is if it means he can help keep his friends safe.]

Let us never hope you ever have to go without it. The Norse diet is horribly bland and dull. We're luck if we have even as much as salt and pepper to season things with, let alone any other spices.

[Ivar was luckier then most, so he tried to not complain too much. Being a prince, he'd at least grown up with enough to eat all the time, which not all of his subjects had.]

No, I don't believe much has been told on this subject. Why do people dress up? And how does one acquire all the chocolate during it? Is it sacrificed to some gods?

Bah, fish. If I never eat another pickled herring, it will be too soon. If you are what you eat, then most of the Norsemen back home are turning into fish.

[Hey, they were cheap, easy to catch, and there was an abundance of them, so they made up a lot of a typical Norse diet meatwise.]

This sounds like a brilliant way to get lots of candy. I definitely propose we add this to the holidays celebrated here!

It is very much the same in Kattegat. The soil is hard and the weather is cold, so growing most fruits and vegetables is very hard. It is much, much easier to go out, bring a net full of fish back in, and then salt them all to save for when times get very lean.

[Ivar laughs just a little as well.]

You are a strange one. So optimistic. But I find I like that in some people.

Yes. Kattegat is in Norway. It is winter six months out of the year and summer the other six months, so it is often very cold and gloomy. But then when we invaded England we found the country was just as gloomy and only a little less cold.

[Why didn't the Vikings move elsewhere? Who knows. It might have been a desolate place, but it was their home at the end of the day.]

I suppose I need to keep people like you around. You balance me out.

[For Ivar is a born cynic and usually sees the worst in everything.]
ragnarsson: ([12.14] What are you doing)

The only good part about snow is throwing it at people and dumping it on their heads when they are least expecting it.

[Ivar may have grown up in snow, but he's none too fond of it. But considering he had to crawl through it using only his arms when the snows were taller then his head, it was justified.]

Yes. I see too much bad in everything. People like you, and Alice, and Peter keep me from falling too far into dark thoughts.

Exactly like a snowball fight.

[It made Ivar happy to throw the snowballs at people. It was small-scale warfare with much lower odds.]

It is good. Having balance around this place keeps it from tipping too far one way or the other.
