Hey guys! So, if I'm still figuring the timing about right, Valentines is coming up! I'm gonna make chocolates!

[No. Not just for his friends from home, either. Knowing Sora he probably faces that same thing with Christmas with wanting to do this for Everyone.......

Someone should really tell him to learn to calm it down. If that's even possible for him.]

Oh, right. Not everyone might get it. But, uh, Valentines is like a celebration of friends! Or more. If you have someone special! You get them flowers or chocolate and show you appreciate them! It's not as huge a thing as Christmas or anything, but. I still like it! And if I make too much chocolate, just means I can save some for later!

[So this is clearly just a win all around, right? Obviously.]

On the other hand, with my training lately, I figured I can do something else too! I don't think Riku was too thrilled though.... but I can help in fights by taking hits for others!

[......this is decidedly probably not something he should seem as thrilled about? But he is anyway. Because of course he is if it means he can help keep his friends safe.]

What's a blackrom?

They're troll versions? Matesprite's pretty close to what humans think of as a boyfriend or girlfriend. Kismesis, that's the blackrom one, that's a hateship. Where you hate someone so much that you end up like romantic rivals and the like.

Haha, it's a troll thing. I've never had much luck making one.

For the most part? Humans don't. I think the whole idea of being romantically involved with your perfect rival's sort of weird for them?

I'm not sure I get it? But....I dunno. My only 'rival' was Riku and we're fine now.

[And that rivalry was probably overall more on Riku's end, if anything. Sora being a little competitive but not that hung up about it the same way.]

Yeah, if you're the kind of rival who can get over being in a rival? Definitely a different sort of rivalry. More a friendly sort.

Yeah, totally different, that. That's uh... kind of normal for friends where I come from too, hehe. I don't think the way we do things 'works' for most humans honestly, like with the whole rivalry thing. Hard to wrap the old think pan around it. So no worries anyway. Not like I'm looking for one these days, hah. Pffft, nope! I am oooooon a break.

Trolls do sound kinda similar but really different at the same time. Yeah.

[Sora hasn't even been thinking on relationships. Aside from certain things perhaps reminding him of Kairi back home, or reminding him of Riku. The paopu drawing he did though that feels like a lifetime ago now, given everything.]

Uh... yeah, so. My last kismesis? Yeah, that was awful, and I'd only just dumped his clown butt when I got here, so I've been taking a break from the heavier quadrants. Those are our kinda romantic relationships, so we're clear... Not really looking for a mate or hateship. Just fine with a moirail for the time being.

Probably gonna stay that way for a sweep at least I think.

[And Trolls? Had a weird habit of always thinking about relationships at times. That kind of gossip was sort of common for them.]

A Sweep is uh, a year right? I guess I haven't....really thought on it myself. I've been busy with everything else since leaving home to think about that sort of thing.

[Sure, there was the crush on Kairi leading to him drawing them sharing the Paopu, but he hasn't seen her much since given everything going on. To be able to get to act on it, to be able to express how either or both of them really feel. There hasn't been the downtime for that sort of thing in between it all. Yet, on his end.]

I don't remember if you mentioned the moirail thing or not.

Hmmm... [Carry the four...] A sweep is about... uh... 25 or 26 human months on Earth. It's a Solar sweep, and they're closer to their star than Alternia is, but Alternia's sun's a lot bigger and angrier and redder. So, uh... six sweeps is 13 years or so? Give or take?

So, I'm kind of in the middle of that sweep, but I figure I'll probably hold out until I've had at least one off. That whole thing with the clown was baaaad.

[Ahem. If he were to know and do the math, that'd probably put her around 18 years old when her 'break' was done after all the madness of her life.]

Oh right, so... this is complicated, but short version. Trolls have four kinds of romantic relationships and all. Two of them are what humans would think of as romantic. You know, for uh... pailing and all. [AHEM] Those are matesprites and kismesis. Pity and Hate. We usually never have more than one of each, since we're jealous and violent and all...

Moirails and Auspitices are the not quite so romantic, but still definitely romantic things. Moirails are sort of like a human's best friends, only a little more intense than that usually means, and a whole lot of taking care of each other. Sorry, it's weird, and the guy who's actually good at explaining this crap isn't here right now.

As for what kismesis is... we were kind of in Hate with each other, if that makes sense? It was a crappy relationship though so it's not a good example.

A couple of years or so then. Right. I guess you've told me some of this but not the moirawhatsits and Austhingies. I dunno how you mean about that being more intense than a best friend but I guess if you say so.

[Sora's still not really. Actually clicked about her and Namine yet exactly. He's not the sharpest.]

Well, uh... let me ask you. You wouldn't go on a "Friend Date" with just any friend, would you? Think of it that way. As a friend, that you do specific kinda romantic stuff for while you're looking out for each other, that you wouldn't do with other friends.

And don't worry if that still doesn't quite make sense. It doesn't always make sense to trolls really, and we're not always good at it. It gets even weirder when non-trolls are involved. Sort of ... well, you're sneaking through a minefield sometimes. I don't know how Kanaya and Rose ever pulled it off.

A friend date? I dunno.

[While he has some idea on things that remind him of Kairi or things he wants to do with her? Sora still isn't necessarily sure on what that means, how he really feels about her yet, if he does still have that crush on her.]

Romantic or whatever, at least, you have friends here though. And if you aren't wanting anything more, at least for now, that's....probably enough?

Yeah... I've got what I want here. It's nice. And I don't need to go after other things for the moment, just take it easy and relax. One step at a time.
