That's what I'm hearing. They're called Shiba Inus, it's a breed mostly found in Japan. [He quickly corrects himself.] It's a country where I'm from.

They're known for the faces they make when people talk to them.

Yeah, a lot of people use them as pets. I don't think a lot of breeds of dogs are hunters anymore. Not that I've met, anyway.

[Unless you count hellhounds, but those aren't dogs.]

They're more for hunting for your world, then?

Yes. I know grandmother would keep the retired ones at home, but mostly we used them purely for hunting.

It tended to depend on who owned them... I know father would take them out on a hunt once every week, time permitting, and if not him, my brothers or sister often took them out. The kennel-master would care for them otherwise.
