[ This whole way of communicating already feels so new and amazing to Chizuru, but finding this on it.. well, that's a whole new level of things she didn't even know were possible. She looks pretty genuinely amazed. ]

I guess you can call it art, in a way. [Memes are art in their own category, really.] Ah, not really? It's a meme.

Nah, it's more like... a joke? [How do you explain a meme to someone who doesn't know what it even is.]

People usually say it to each other online, like we're talking now. Sometimes they even do it in person.

[Nero flicks both his arms in a shrug, and she may notice how the lower half of his right arm is completely robotic.]

[ She repeats the words, but her gaze does drift off for a moment towards Nero's arm. That definitely doesn't look like anything seen where she comes from. If he's used to this way of speaking to people, and he has that.. maybe his world is just much more futuristic compared to her own? Enough to develop these meme things. ]

Ah.. I understand, I think. Thank you for teaching me. [ She doesn't want to look like some backwater bumpkin in front of all the people here.. ] It seems things must have been pretty advanced where you come from.

[ She mostly means the meme and online thing moreso than the arm, since she feels like the arm may be a sensitive subject. But it's hard to tell she's trying to be tactful and avoid that with how obviously she looked at the arm just before. ]

[The good thing is that Nero's pretty patient in explaining for people who obviously don't get it. Chizuru may not understand, but it's okay, because he's not expecting everyone to. He doesn't think she's a bumpkin at all.]

Kind of, I guess? It's really hard to describe unless you're familiar with it. [The robot hand waves in a motion of don't worry about it before he notices her eyes stare at it. And, contrary to what she may think, he actually raises it so she can see it fully in the video screen.]

A little. This isn't really common for a lot of people back home, in my case. [A shrug.] Doesn't do much except act like a normal arm here. Can't complain too much.

[That's a lie, he absolutely does complain, but not as often as before.]

[ Well, at least that makes his world feel a little less strange. Not that the concept of a meme isn't still super new and weird to Chizuru, but at least it seems like some modern form of joking might be easier to understand for her than people just.. getting metallic arms for some reason.

Still, if it's not common, then that means he must've gotten his for a special reason. Probably not a good one, considering he must've lost his actual arm? It's why the look in her eyes turns a bit more sympathetic. ]

I'm glad you can still move it like a normal arm here then.. [ Never having seen or experienced any form of robotics, it's hard to Chizuru to imagine robot limbs and how they work. ] It doesn't hurt or anything..?

Same. If it didn't work, I'd be in a lot more trouble. [He's thankful, really. Not that he'd so openly admit it to anyone, he's stubborn like that a lot of the time.

Nero notices the sympathy, but doesn't let it bother him. If he were younger he'd scowl at it, but he's grown quite a bit since his time in Fortuna.]

Nah, there's no pain. I don't even notice it half the time. [She'd be right about him losing his arm, but that's a topic he'd rather not go into if he can avoid it.] It's still useful even as it is now, though I gotta admit I'm gonna miss riding the rocket arm I had back home.
