[She briefly considered doing Audio, but screw it. This was about her friends from her world, so folks could deal with her text if they wanted to talk to her on the network. At least that was how she'd felt under the circumstances. She'd done a little checking to be absolutely certain on both of their counts, and now that she was, Terezi piped up on the network.]

[Voice? Did she wanna do voice? Not really, but she could do it. A sigh echoed on the comm and she was obviously a little uncomfortable. not a lot uncomfortable, but a little as she spoke.]

I've been checking for a bit, yeah. Wanted to make sure before I made this post. They went poof a little while ago. Got back from the fighting, but they disappeared not long after that.

But I'm pretty sure the both of them have gone home.

Hmm.. [ There's a small sound of acknowledgement, but it takes a few more moments for words to follow. ]

I'm glad they at least got back from the fighting alright, then. [ Considering it would have been way worse if they had died back there and then just.. never reappeared after despite others having.. ] But it must still be tough to not have your friends around anymore. I'm sorry, Terezi.

It's... well, I'm both sort of used to it, and not used to it. [She grunted a little bit.] Right there, towards the end, I was almost entirely on my own...

But I do miss 'em, so maybe one of those bums will show up again soon. That'd be nice. Put 'em to good use and all.

Has it happened before?

[ She'd rather linger on that last part - that still has a bit of hope in it - rather than the sad implications of the first thing Terezi has said. The other can probably use every single shred of positive thinking right now. ]

Someone disappearing here and then suddenly appearing again soon after?

I... wanna say it's happened, but not to anyone I know from home? Yeah, I can't quite remember who it was, but I've known a couple who came back.

Oh wait, I think Finn did? Maybe?

[ The name doesn't seem familiar to Chizuru. But then again, it's not like she knows everyone in this place - so she'll just trust Terezi on her word. ]

Oh, really..? That must have been so strange for that person. [ She hums, seemingly thinking about it. ] And maybe a little sad too. Imagine thinking you're finally home again, only to show up here again right after.. It seems like it'd be slightly disappointing.

Yeah he was saying something like that. And I could see it. Yeah. It'd be really unpleasant if you wanted to be back home.

[Did she? Yes, but no not really. Being home would be great, but it wouldn't come with a happy ending, so...]

[ That implication does kind of hang in Terezi's words, doesn't it. Of course Chizuru can't be sure whether or not the other wants to go home, but.. ]

Ah, sorry! I guess I was thinking a little bit too much from my own point of view.. [ After all, despite enjoying everything here, Chizuru doesn't want to stay if given the choice. ] I really have to go home, so I'd get really worried if that sort of thing happened to me.

Nah, I get it. I don't remember him saying anything about missing anything big, so maybe time doesn't work properly and they can send you back to the moment you left from? That'd be helpful.

Hey, I wonder if they can send me back to any time whatsoever? That could be useful.

You mean like being able to go back into the past?

[ She seems to think about it for a moment. ]

That might get a little strange, right? Since if you'd go too far back, then you'd be older than you are supposed to be at that time..

Well, I was thinking "send me in the future somewhere that still exists, so I don't wind up dead." Back in the past doesn't really help me. I already sent John there, and we'd need to handle the sucking chest wound first too.

So, maybe after I was supposed to die again?

[ There's just a pause on Chizuru's end for a while. Pretty much every single piece of information in that statement is confusing, and her brain just gives up trying to wrap itself around it after trying to do so for a few moments. ]

That.. sounds a little complicated. [ She honestly admits. She kind of feels bad for not being able to think of it so easily as Terezi does while the other is younger than her, but it's just the truth. ] But as long as it'd keep you safe, then I suppose it'd be good as long as it's possible..

Well, in the end... I think I'm ok with whatever happens. Just not in a hurry to have it happen. When you've been dead once, it doesn't affect you the same way to think of it happen again, ya know?

I guess that must be true..

[ Maybe. Probably? It's not like Chizuru can have an idea of it when she has never died herself, and she'd sure not want to assume anything. ]

But.. it's still better if you could live, right? If we ever have a chance to ask the gods for it once they find a way to return us home, I can help support you in asking them. The more voices there are for something, the better, right?

Yeah. I mean, nobody ever truly lives forever. I don't care if you're the globbing Thief of Life [Fuck you Condesce, seriously.] You can't avoid it forever, so no point dwelling on how it happens...

Buuuuut, if I can keep on living a little longer, I can keep on having fun a little longer, right?

Yes.. And even so, you're still young. You should at least still live a little more than this. [ It's not as if Chizuru hasn't seen people die relatively young. The general age people live to back home isn't.. very high, after all. But Terezi is even younger than a lot of the men she's seen die in the war. ]

So let's see what we can do.

Sounds like a plan to me, but not really one we need to worry about right now. Eventually, but not for the moment.

For now? We can enjoy the ambience and try to take it easy, right?

[ Chizuru is just.. really good at worrying ahead. Maybe a little too good. But even she can acknowledge that's just a bad habit of hers rather than something necessary in every situation. ]

Let's do our best to enjoy things as they come while we're still stuck here.

Yeah, we can do that. I'm having... a little bit of a rough day, but I can find the things that I enjoy to focus on in the meantime. And knowing that they're ok. That helps. A lot.

I understand you probably need some space and rest right now, but.. If you end up needing company at all during some part of that rough day, or even the days after, just let me know, alright? I'll be alright over whenever you want me to.

[ Even if she had something pressing to do, she'd drop it in a heartbeat for someone she'd consider at least somewhat resembling a friend. ]

I'll remember that... thanks. In truth? I kind of had to get through it on my own, so the worst of it's done, at least for now. I didn't want to post to the network balling like an idiot, after all.

[ It's not that Chizuru doesn't understand why people don't like to show all emotions in front of others - especially the negative ones. She was surrounded by those types back home, and even she doesn't like crying in front of others since she feels like it might be a burden.

I understand. But I doubt anyone would mind seeing you like that either. Feeling sad is only natural when something like this happens. If someone I knew from back home was here and disappeared, I'd probably be so upset that I wouldn't know what to do.

No, I sort of get it. Humans do that all the time, don't they? Get weepy about their feelings. It's just... kind of uncomfortable for trolls as a rule. Sign of weakness and that's a good way to get yourself culled.

Old habits really die hard. But... I'll be fine, promise.

[ Yes, Chizuru, clearly the most intimidating person around with how short and sweet she is. ]

[She laughed as the girl said that and flashed her those yellow, sharp teeth of hers, like a shark's grin as she giggled.]
