We're cold-blooded to one extent or another, so even if I can handle the cold I really don't like it.

Good, I'm glad. That means the cold makes you a bit sluggish, right? I've met aliens who were cold-blooded before. Do you have enough blankets in your room?

I remember that you told me about your fish friend. Does it get cold often in your home planet?

[ Red is one of Peter's favorite colors, along with green. So he has a similar taste as Terezi. And he's so not surprised when she licks the blanket. He laughs and then wraps it around her shoulders, taking it as an opportunity to give her a hug. ]

Of course! one of the best colors for the best troll lady I know.

My ... oh, feferi? I guess yeah. she'd call us fish fronds! Hahahaha, she loved frond puns a lot!

[Because her 'fish friend' was definitely not Eridan. Screw that little shit. But Feferi was cool by royalty's standards. She'd also never tried to murder her, so that was a bonus.]

It usually stays pretty damned warm where we come from. Maybe cold at the poles but nobody goes there. The sun's really bright. [Grin] And you're spoiling me with all that sinful red.

Fish fronds it is then. [ Peter laughed at the bad pun because...well, bad puns are the best puns. ]Now, what if we sit down or somefin to talk?

[ People not trying to murder you sure are more easy to befriend, that for sure. But in Peter case, murders attempts never really got in the way of friendship, or romance, because both Nebula and Gamora had tried to kill him in the past. ]

Then no wonder this weather is so annoying to you. Red's one of the best colors and maybe I like to spoil you. It's Christmas, is the best time of the year to spoil people. Do you celebrate it Altor...altre...in your troll planet?

Maaaaaan... you two would have a gas and a half. She never got anyone to do the puns back at her other than Sollux and he was so begrudging.

[She shook her head and just laughed. It was a good memory of Feferi even if she could be a little squeaky and annoying. Already starting to wrap herself up in the blanket, she grinned at him.]

Hehehe, Alternia. We uh... celebrate something a little like it? 12th Perigree's Eve. Our lusi would go out and get a behemoth to decorate, and there'd be gifts and the like. It was fun but kind of weird.

I didn't do as much with it since my lusus hadn't actually hatched.

That's a shame, poor fishie friend no one understood her as I do. If she ever gets here, make sure to introduce her to me.

[ Peter happens to like trolls, he's realized, so he wouldn't mind meeting more of her friends. Plus, imagine all the pun battles and terrible humor they could have. He can already imagine Terezi groaning.

He's pleased to see Terezi a bit more comfortable with that blanket, even if Peter doesn't trust for one second that she's okay now that two of her friends are gone. But he can offer company and comfort if she allows it. ]

Funny how we are from a different planet but we still have the same date assigned to a special holiday. Was your Lusus a bird?

Will absolutely do, but be careful about flirting. Her boyfriend's got laser eyes, hahaha.

[She didn't expect him to flirt. It was an excuse to tease him about getting blasted by Sollux's psychic vision because violence was always funny to her. Her little vengeance for all those pun battles she could already imagine coming.

But maaaaan, he liked trolls, but he'd only met two of them, and they weren't the total idiots. Time would tell, time would tell...]

I think it's off by a few days, but... there's some weird similarities between our cultures. I've never fully understood why. [Mmmm? Her lusus? Oh!] Oh, she was a dragon, actually. A really cool one. Fast and lithe, or she would have been if she'd ever hatched.

[ Because if the answer is no, then it's less Superman and more Cyclops kinds thing. Peter is still labeling that dude as a superhero because laser eyes are so cool.

And nah, he wouldn't flirt with Feferi. Peter's heart is for Gamora only. But he would like to meet even more trolls, all of them are very particular and interesting. ]

We really need to find a way to set a calendar, there's no way to track time properly here. A dragon, nice...I think it fits you. Did something happen?

Nooooooop. They just go boom everywhere in pretty blue and red colors. So you absolutely do NOT want this to happen. Thankfully it usually doesn't. Long as nobody gives him mind honey.

Well, all our lusi pretty much died when our world died, so she's gone now. Like the rest.

It... sucked? But it was sweeps ago too, so I've gotten to deal with it. In truth? While we care about our lusi, it's not 'quite' as bad as humans losing a parent. I've never known any troll to get nearly as broken up about it.

It's still cool of you to think that. [She grinned.] Thanks for the thought either way. It would have been nice if she'd hatched first at least. You know, to fly just once.

Just because it was time ago it doesn't hurt any less, even it if wasn't exactly the same as losing a parent. I still miss my mom and it's been 3 decades since she passed away due to sickness. [ Sickness that his jackass father created but this conversation is about Terezi, not him. ]

I know. Maybe one day I'll manage to get the escape pod out of the Benatar, then I'll take you flying. Promise.

Hehe, you were also real close to her from what you've said. So that's a thing right there.

I'd like the flying but you should know I've managed to do a little of that with rocket packs in the past, and I got to be a dragon for a little while here. Still, can't have too much flying!

We were. Unlike you I didn't really have friends, I ended in trouble all the time getting into fights with other kids.

[ Granted, it wasn't undeserved fights since they were being cruel to animals or mocking him about his family in the first place. ]

Rocket packs, those are great. Oh this remind me that I still have the aero-rigs, if only I could get them to work. Ey but what if we built you a hang glider?

Yeah, I could see that. If you don't have too much in the way of friends, you're going to get close to the person who actually cares for you. But you aren't alone now, so yay!

Hang Glider? Oh man, that sounds badass. That's the thing where you just let the wind carry you around, right?

Pretty much. The way my team met was rather unconventional. Most of them tried to kill me at some point and then we all ended in jail.

[ Fun times, those. ]

Badass and because it doesn't use any kind of electricity, we should be able to make it without messing up with the magic here. That's the one! We can even paint it so it looks like it has dragon sales.

Hahaha, that sounds like the perfect sort of team. Nothing like fighting to have a bonding experience if you ask me. It's completely normal.

I would absolutely love it if we can pull that off sometime.
