[Looks like someone is, again, all exuberance and energy today. Probably more like when isn't Sora, but still. He's beaming, already all dressed up in an outfit that might be somewhat familiar to some, that know of Santa at least. Only Sora's is a little more personalized and black instead of red with the white.]

Okay, so yeah like Alice said, it's....well I think around the right time of year. It's easier for me to lose track back home with all the travel I do but. I think it's about right. Anyway, Christmas! Santa! Presents! Decorations! We're totally gonna have it all here too, right? Everyone knows about Christmas in some form, right?

At least, the version I know is Santa, big guy, red and white suit, big long beard, gives out presents to everyone under their Christmas tree. Has elves help him make the presents and rides a sleigh with reindeer to go from house to house through the chimneys to deliver them on Christmas Eve? Right?

I've even met him! Christmas Town was amazing! (Yes, Riku, he is real!) [Cue pointed annoyed pout. He will never forget that, Riku, making him end up on the naughty list for saying Santa wasn't real!]

So I was thinking we could figure presents for each other? Either we can make or buy something, or I guess we could ask the gods for help too if they want to join in? And I can decorate!

[....by making more work in asking the gods for decorations....at least a tree would be simple enough for him to figure? Probably?]

( This is two posts in a row that mention this whole "Christmas" debacle, which is basically a mystery to Emil. Searching for meaning to the word, he can vaguely recall a book mentioning it as a point of history, but the modern and social imagery of the holiday are absent from his mind. Even the fleeting phrase is one that he doesn't think his memory is truly right about. )

Are you and Alice from the same world? I have no idea what your posts are talking about to comment on anything. ( It's probably something banal, but one aspect of it all does catch his interest: ) Namely, what's this about presents being involved?

The same world? Er, not exactly but sort of? I traveled to a lot of other worlds back home, even London where she's originally from but I met her in Wonderland.

Yeah! At Christmas you usually make or buy a gift for your friends and family! And Santa brings some too, like I said!

That isn't some story or metaphor, somehow? It seems a little absurd, some large, old man breaking into your house to leave you gifts. And with some elves, nonetheless.

( If this is an actual thing that happens in some parts of the universe -- which might actually be likely, considering some of the strange things he's heard -- then it's slightly concerning to him that this might be some Asgard tradition as well. But, it's all a little too ridiculous to put much stock in. )

But I can't say the personal gift-giving aspect is unappealing. Strange that there's a holiday where it's essentially everyone's birthday at once.

What is Christmas about anyway?

Yeah! I went to Halloween Town and Christmas Town!

But like I said, Christmas is about the family getting together, your friends, sharing big, delicious meals with them, exchanging presents with each other and getting some from Santa. It's about being together with the people you care about.

Yeah! I met him at Christmas Town! Christmas is when you have fun singing carols and decorating the house with lights and stuff, and decorating the tree, and making or buying presents for your friends and family!

[Well. There's more to it, but that was the basics? Which is probably enough to try explain to others not familiar. Sora figures to go with the basics in introducing them to it at least.]

We don't celebrate Christmas where I'm from. The tradition of Yule is what is done among Vikings. But from what I can tell it appears the rest of the world stole many of our customs to create this Christmas thing.

[Seriously, Christians were just a bunch of jealous hipsters upset that the Norse were cooler then they were.]

[Sora is still young and hasn't been to all the worlds. That and, well. He's from the tropical Islands. Obviously nowhere near whatever equivalent there might be for his world's version of Vikings.]
