It's come to my attention that a number of you have yet to experiment with the powers we've bestowed upon you. Whatever the reason may be, it would be to the benefit of us all if you were better equipped to handle these new magics.

[ You know, in case you need them. For this next part, Odin's typical deadpan somehow manages to flatten even further into something between resignation and begrudging endearment. ]

Tyr took it upon himself to create new facilities for this purpose, but in typical fashion, what is asked for is never enough.

[ The God of Extra. Odin despairs of his younger brother. ]

With his blessings, the Áræði Coliseum is now available for various types of… "training," I suppose we'll call it - foremost among them being Leikrúnhöll, where you can safely practice your magic without risking harm to one another. Please use this space wisely.

[ As in: please use them, and please don't kill each other. It's the literal least he could ask for. ]

Your characters can use this post to ask Odin IC questions about their god powers or anything else they may want to know! There is also an OOC Q&A going on at the same time to ask OOC questions about your god powers. The power mods will be around to try and help you figure out how your spell works, how much magic you can use in one day, or whatever other questions you may have about how the god power mechanic works. It's a hefty beast and we're still learning how to navigate it ourselves, so please don't hesitate to ask if you've got questions! ]

To give a grossly simplified answer to your question however, we brought you back with magic.

[ Hm. That's... interesting. So, it wasn't just one of them? ]

Magic. [ Just as deadpan. ] Well, I'm not going to question it too much just as long as it lasts here.

[She was sticking to Audio with the big guy, mostly because didn't want to deal with a more irritated Odin than absolutely necessary, and also because she wanted understanding.]

Nifty... I'll have to check that out! Not that I haven't been practicing. Came in handy with all those dead things walking.

But... since I've got you, we're not in danger of all dying in the next few weeks, are we? Have a minute to talk, about those things I was trying to ask before everything went to heck?

Ok, so... first things first, I might have missed it, but did we get a ... you know, consensus on the sacrificing moo beasts on your altars thing? Kinda wanted to be sure of the baseline before talking legal stuff.

Ah, yes.

[ That whole ritual sacrifice thing. Odin's voice stays as level as ever, like they're talking about the weather. ]

The overall agreement was a call for order, which has been arranged with Ivar's assistance. They will be kept private where possible and constrained to more particular circumstances.

[ OOC: In lieu of me doing a bunch of research into what those particulars are, you can assume Odin would read all of them off like a dictionary if she asked. :|b ALSO please absolutely feel free to ignore this literal month-old tag. I know you've been angling to use some of this legal structure plot for her character growth so we can pick this up if you're okay with it! Apologies for my own busyness and slowness forever. ]

Oh! I wonder if it's like where I trained with Herc and Phil back home. That could be great! I mean, depending on what some powers might be. Some might not necessarily be more...combat based, like mine is. Mine is more defensive anyway, not something that would hurt anyone or damage anything. At least, the power I figured so far.

There should be something to suit everyone's needs. It sounds as though you've found a better grasp on your abilities since we last spoke.

I have! Or, I mean. I figured one power? I'm not sure if there's a specific number we have now or something, but. It's a start, right? Even if it is more defensive.

[He's trying? And even if his ability might not be as amazing as some, it's still something at least.]

Alt-pops! [ Odin's lot in life is now just to put up with Loki's whining, as it should be. ] When do I ascend to my former godly status again? This mortal coil is rad ay-eff but I'm a little uneasy about the fact I'm getting cold so easily. Also, I'm good with the powers. More than! Consider giving me more at your leisure, I would love the chance to use them both maturely and responsibly in your name.

[ You only have yourself to blame for the long, long deadpan you receive through the video feed, Loki. Imagine if you'd just done voice instead; you wouldn't be able to see the unimpressed stare the Allfather has for you. (as it should be???) ]

Of all the unintelligible things you've presented me with here, I'd say the last seems the most questionable.

[ Mature and responsible? Suuure. ]

I know you can't begin to express your feelings for me, it's okay. I hear your loving support in all the things you don't say! But, Pa, [ guess who's keeping up the old daddy act to see if it gets him anywhere, ] you must admit, the benefit of having another actual, qualified godling around would be enormous! Untold! I would defend the Golden Realm with all my power, were it to be returned.

[ Mother help him. ]

Is that to say you would not do so with all the power you have now?

[ Hand on his heart, he casts a sorrowful shake of his head. ]

What I have now? Alas, I'm but a shade of myself, I would cast myself into the pathway of a Jotnar Army to keep them from taking Asgard! But, I fear the frost would end me first, ere I got anywhere near their ranks.

[ His eyes widen, sparkling with something part-mischief and part-truth. Earnest. ]

You are young and not the father I knew, yet correct me if I am wrong: you are still Odin Borson, who built the world from corpse-meat. Odin One-Day-One-Eye, whose wisdom will come not from sacrifice but humility. You are Odin All-Father, who speaks for the Tree, king of all stories ...

Can you not help your someday-son, then, when he asks you now to make him whole once more?

[ Well. Mother help him more, but Odin does smile. Such theatrics are better suited to his brother, Njord - perhaps that's part of what makes it frustratingly endearing. ]

My someday-son who is not my son, you are already as whole now as you have ever been.

[ A statement loaded with implications for one with such a complicated existence as Loki. He doesn't even exist here yet, and yet here he is anyway. A living contradiction; the god of duplicity, as it were. ]

But you are not meant to be here in this way. You are meant to live as many lives as you can live with the Mother's blessing and return here when you are done. This is not your Asgard, and this is not your end.

[ At least, not yet. Still, Odin regards the boy with equal amounts of fondness, curiosity, and an enduring neutrality behind it all. ]

I cannot make you what you cannot be. Laufeyson or Odinson or otherwise - here, you are Loki, and whatever else you decide to make of that in the interim.
