[ In the background of the video feed is the very beautiful headboard-slash-wall of Rhys’s bunk in Tyrhaus. Has he been publicly threatened on the network by one of his housemates twice? Yes. Is he still hanging out here anyway? Yes.
Honestly, he thinks he has nowhere to go and hasn’t thought to check with anyone more friendly for help, but, hey, he’s still alive! Clearly everything is fine.
Anyway, he’s smiling, and gives a quick little wave. ]
Hi, guys! I’ve got some awesome new updates for the bracelets, and something kind of related to that that I could use help with. The name’s Rhys, by the way, for anyone who hasn’t met me yet.
So I spoke with Odin about improving the bracelets. Before, it was just kind of a very basic phone … thing, that can also play some music. With Odin’s help, we’ve got some more stuff! So, first off, we’ve kind of got a hard drive on the bracelet now. For anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s somewhere you can store things like videos, pictures and documents. Like a library, except it takes up way less space. Which means we can now do stuff like write notes so that we don’t forget stuff, wish lists, uhh, recipes, etcetera etcetera. I’ve been keeping a list of everyone that was ever in Asgard and who’s gone home, as well as compiling info about our home worlds-slash-universes, and I’m going to put that on my hard drive thing.
We can also record videos without broadcasting them to people like I’m doing right now, and take pictures, and save them on the hard drive. Maybe there’s some stuff you just want to save and keep for yourself, stuff you want to remember. Now you can!
You can also share everything with other people. You just ... send it from your bracelet to other people’s bracelets. Once I’ve got my list and information saved, for example, I can just send it to anyone who wants to see it. Speaking of which, if there’s anyone who hasn’t already and feels up for telling me about where they’re from, please let me know.
[ He pauses, looks at the time he’s been recording for, and makes a grimace. ]
Oh, I’m doing the thing where I start making a video and then wish I would’ve just made a text post instead … Whatever.
So! This is what I need help with. I actually wanted to create a sort of database that can be accessed not just by the bracelets but also, say, from the library. It feels kind of unfair for us to have all this stuff, but the rest of the city doesn’t get to take any part in it. Anyway, according to Odin, that’s going to take a bit more effort. Meaning we need to actually help make the stuff required to make that happen. I guess the bracelets are really strictly for us? I don’t know.
[ He lifts his hands beside his face in a shrugging gesture. ]
And I’d be happy to do that! Honestly, I’m kind of bored out of my mind. The problem is I work with software, which means I could code any programs that need to be made once we have the physical stuff in place, but I’m not a computer engineer or anything like that. I don’t suppose I’m lucky enough that there’s someone here that knows how to build this stuff? Other than that, I’ll happily take anyone who wants stuff to do and is willing to help me out with this. I’m sure we can figure it out, possibly with some more help from Odin.

...Uh, maybe you should send a 'text post' to me, because I have no idea what you're talking about and I don't think you want to repeat it fifty times. But I do want to take photos!

[ Would a text post even be enough for that? It would probably need pictures. Anyone computer-savvy enough should be able to figure it out on their own, so if this guy has no idea, then ... ]
You know what? It's probably better if I just show you in person.

Yeah, completely. It's, uh, actually really basic stuff. We've had it for centuries. We can do a lot more.

The new features provided by the hard drive will be really useful. Thanks, Rhys.
You should talk to Isha Devan, she's an engineer and even knows how to build robots.
[ And that's pretty much all he says. He can't help with the database but he wanted to thanks Rhys for his efforts. ]

No worries, man.
And that sounds like exactly the help I need. Thanks!

You can do more of that only with the bracelet?
[ because, the most tech thing he has seen so far is photography from a big box with a lens and taking and keeping pictures and videos with a bracelet is already mind-imploding. making lists without writing them? asdfghjkl. ]

Hehehehe so now we have data storage for all the neeerds out there that want to store their videos and memes for later use
Cool Cool
What about sylladexes?
When are we going to get one of those?
[Never. You are never getting extradimensional storage space that randomly ejects items like projectile weapons, Terezi. The gods are not that stupid.]
