NPC POST - THIS IS WHAT YOU CAME FOR

[ When the video feed turns on, both Tyr and a new face can be seen looking down into the camera. The woman sits back with a sly smile of sorts and levels Tyr with a sidelong glance. ]

Not bad for our first time, darling. Go on, then. Tell them what miracles you've brought for them today.

Not bad, is that truly the reputation you wish for me to have? Not bad, when I spent all morning worshipping you for all you did for us?

[He’s cute, isn’t he? He’s definitely cute, the way he says all that and then has the audacity to wink at her, like that’s what endears him to her. With a little grin, he turns towards the camera, focusing down. This is a post for the Wanderers, but it takes a lot to refocus Tyr from her.]

Given you all have a bit of a tendency to wander-- [DO YOU GET IT BECAUSE YOU’RE WANDERERS ha ha he make joke] --we thought we’d help you all keep in touch. Now, this is new, so don’t go breaking it your first day, hm? I’m going to be quite annoyed if our hard work is ruined from the start.

[ She rolls her eyes, entirely unimpressed by his antics and yet still smiling like a cat that doesn't even need to ask for the cream. ]

As though your lot aren't prone to breaking beautiful things. You could all stand to learn a more delicate touch.

[ She glances directly into the camera as she says the last sentence, perhaps speaking more to their audience now than the banter that seems to run between them. ]

It should do most of the work for you. Tap where you must to tell it what you want it to do, and then you can do or say whatever your little heart desires.

[ If she seems privately amused by the word "little," it's certainly just your imagination. ]

Given how most of you decided to just attack, yes. Next time a little more planning needs to be involved. I'm surprised most of you still have your skin.

The dragon didn't listen to reason and was burning the forest, very close to reach the city. I would have happily talked her out of it but it didn't seem like that was a possibility.

Eh, I fought worse things than a giant fire-breathing dragon. [ He's not even exaggerating this time. ]

It's a dragon. I doubt that any would listen to reason unless they were the Lady Targaryen's dragons.

[ He waves a hand to dismiss the matter of a dragon. ]

It was rather tame, wasn't it?

You never know, there's plenty of dragon-like aliens in the galaxy with sentience. Lady Targaryen, as in, Daenerys? Wait, she has dragons? [ What in the...!? Peter pauses after that, green eyes big and blinking fro a second. And then; ] That's so cool!

Not sure if tame is the word I'd use either. You fought dragons before?

She said a prayer for it when the dragon fell. [ So yes, she has dragons. ] It's very cool.

Semi-sentient artifacts with godlike abilities, yes. And also my brother.

Oh, I didn't know. But she also wanted some skin and teeth form it, I helped her with it. So she's practical.

[ No point on wasting a perfectly good, giant dragon when you can harvest useful things from it. ]

I know what's that's like, unfortunately. Is your brother a dragon too?

[ Peter wouldn't judge, his father was a planet. It be like that sometimes. ]

It wasn't one of hers, or so it seemed given at how she acted after. But skin? How lucky. I got a few teeth myself.

[ He agrees there. Never know when you may need a few teeth from a dragon to cause some harm here or there. ]

Ah? Interesting. I would think that the Hallows were unique in the universe, but then again, we probably did get the idea from other planets. [ Even if they were slightly awkward to hang onto. ] No, not really. We're twins and our powers feed off of each other.

It makes sense, yes. Oh no, we didn't manage to pierce the skin, it was far too strong, but we tried. The teeth were easier to get, I'm thinking about making some knives with mine.

[ Exactly! Guns are more Peter's thing but his Quad blaster doesn't work here and he's a practical guy so...knives it is. ]

People abusing their powers is a constant in all universes, I'm afraid. I've never heard of the Hallows before but I'm familiar with Mad Titans, Gods and Celestials. Thor, the God of Thunder, is part of my crew. He joined us a few days before I awoke here. [ His eyebrows rise a little at the explanation about the man's brother. ] That's either really messy or really helpful if one of you goes out of control.

[ There's a pause before he adds, with a smile; ]

I should have introduced myself sooner. Name's Peter Kill but across the Galaxy they know me as Star-Lord.

Same. I was hoping to get some myself but none of the tools we have are capable. Maybe next time, using the teeth will help. [ A slight twitchy grin. ] The teeth I got are about the length of an ox-tail sword so I am going to make that.

[ Once he manages to clean them up enough. ]

They were Tools created from meteors to help stabilize my homeland, but there are... side affects. [ Like for instance encasing him in stone when he tried to use them. ] We never encountered creatures like that since our landing on Haixing, but most humans consider us to be monsters or celestials depending. Our abilities are that varied, though the strongest are usually the royal lines.

[ They both learned from their surroundings, but his brother's was far more passive than his. He wondered if his ability to eat dark essences was in a way to keep his twin from absorbing too much and overloading his system. But that was neither here or there. ] You have no idea.

My manners... I'm called Ye Zun.

[ ooc: orz, please pretend it said Peter QUILL and not 'kill'. My autocorrect doesn't like Peter's name. ]

I was told that kind of dragon lives inside volcanoes so it makes sense that simple weapons won't cut the skin. It was a miracle we managed to slow it down and hurt it. Strength in numbers, as they said. [ He really doesn't want to think about what could have happened if they didn't stop the Red Dead. ]

Oh that's so cool. I only got two teeth, but they're around 40 inches long. Maybe it would be better to use them as a sword as well?

[ The explanation raises more questions than answers but Peter gives a nod. ] Different world, different complex lives. I'll make a wild guess and assume the 'side effects' are shitty. [ The way Ye Zun said it made it sound bad to him. ] Do you get into fights with humans then? Or you usually, avoid each other.

Family is never not complicated.

[ ooc; I didn't even notice so it's all good. ]

Ah, that would explain a few things then. That and the fact that you people actually listened and went for the eyes and the like. Although I still wished that we had some black powder on hand for added strength.

[ It would be easy enough to know what would happen. Ye Zun was just annoyed that the so-called gods didn't actually attack the thing as much as they did. ]

They sound about the size of swords yes. Do you know how to clean and prep them for use?

[ The whole mess that was Dixing and Haixing and Yashou was a little hard to explain, but he could try even if it boils down to Dixing is better than Haixing. ] Yes. They balance each other out, but the energies they use can be disastrous for the unprepared. [ Oh, it was. ] A little of both. When the Hallows were made, the limited resources had the three races fighting for survival but once things stabilized, we went our separate paths. Unfortunately, as the losers of the war, us Dixingrens ended up suppressed until war broke out again.

[ Because of course he thought it was a bad deal and his brother Made A Mistake. Of course that was the only reason. Yup. ]

It's nice to meet you as well, Peter Quill.

[ ooc; thank you! ]

You keep talking about 'us' as if we acted out without thinking. The dragon was a threat to everyone in the city, people fought it to survive. Taking her down was less a matter of doing it with style and more getting the job done as quick as possible. It's not like many people had fought this kind of monster before.

I used one of Honir's horses to bring barrels of alcohol to the battlefield, we set them on fire and used them to damage the dragon's wings but it wasn't easy. It's a pity that the only restaurant that served alcohol is now gone.

[ Peter still has some in his ship, but it's alien alcohol and he only has a handful of bottles left. They really should fix the meat and alcohol situation immediately. ]

Ah, uuuuuh... [ If the blond's face is any indication the answer is a clear 'no'. He will happily welcome any advice. ] Guns are more my specialty. If Gamora were he she would love swords made out of dragon teeth, I'm sure.

'Disastrous for the unprepared', that's usually code for 'shit hits the fan' in my line of work. That's awful, I'm sorry. There's really no winners when it comes to war but there are people who always suffer more than others.

[ He doesn't have enough knowledge about Ye Zun's world or the war, so he's going to leave it at that. It seems like a too personal subject to pry. ]

Is your brother in the city?

There was a charge so it felt as if most of you went in without a plan at first. [ A shrug. Like Ye Zun was paying that much attention to the humans running around with weapons. ] The fire must have been after I ran out of arrows and went to help the medics.

[ Aww, poor little human, Ye Zun smiles, though it might need a little work to not look slightly creepy. ] I can give a few pointers on how to go about it.

Mm. They aren't easy to use, though I do know of one human that managed to defy logic and use them. His persistence actually paid off in the end, saving our worlds. Humans fear what they cannot understand, and that fear easily turns into hate when given a chance.

[ The war wasn't as much as a sore spot as it was frustrating. Especially when in hindsight he realized that his own part in it had been partly fueled by a crazed power and years of mind control. So he shoves that aside to instead think of a better thing - his brother. ]

Ge..? No. He's not here. If he was, he would have been right up there with you humans fighting that dragon. He always cares more about the people around him than himself. The idiot.

[ Peter shrugs at the reply. ] "Kill the bug monsters before it eats you" sounds like a solid strategy to me. I admit it could have used some work.

Probably, we only managed a decent hit at the wings after fighting the dragon for a while. It trashed a lot.

[ Any other person might have winced at that smile. Any other person doesn't travel the galaxy with a sociopath raccoon, Peter doesn't seem put out. He smiles back in fact. ]

I'd welcome any tips, thank you. Did you work with swords back home? Or you just have an affinity for them?

Fear has kept the species alive for this long but it also caused unnecessary deaths, I’m afraid some mindsets and old habits are hard to change. It really sucks. Humans are flawed creatures, anybody capable to think and express emotions ends biased in some way.

[ Peter is more than fine with not talking about war and loses, he’s had his own share of it and pretty recently at that. ]

Ah, I see. [ You’ll have to forget Peter’s smile, Ye Zun. Your brother sounds like someone he would like. ]

Mm, quite. [ He's not agreeing but he can see the use of killing the monster before it eats you. Just there should have been a little more order to it. Maybe. ]

Eyes, ears, throat, and any wings. Didn't anyone teach you the basics?

[ Well, there is a slight grudging respect at that. He's caused men to buckle with his grins. ]

I'm over ten thousand years old, so swords were more common to me than firearms. But... with bone, the first thing that you need to do is get rid of any flesh, and the best way for that is wrap it in a mesh bag and bury it. Make sure to anchor it, of course, otherwise the bugs will move it a little.

[ Which he has done. He is going to start the next part of the process soon as he makes sure that the mixture he made is safe for bone. ]

It doesn't help that we're alien to Haixing, but yes, I suppose that's true too.

[ And he isn't going to comment on that last bit. His brother is a popular man - well-liked by humans, Yashou and Dixing alike. It stings a little but Ye Zun was use to that. ]

[ Peter has to purse his lips at that. Dude, seriously? Don't doubt his fighting skills. ]

Just because I said that we managed to hit the wings that don't mean we didn't attach her in other places. Steve and I scaled the dragon to mess up her eyes and ears. When I teamed up with Ivar he hit one of the eyes with a spear. The man has mad aim it, was glorious. As for the throat, the dragon's skin could withstand lava, cutting it wasn't an option. I did get some skin to root using a crossbow with some special bolts the Got Tyr lent me but the injuries were still minor. Do you need more details to be satisfied? I tripped and hit one of the dragon's claws too, I'm suuure that really hurt her. I fight monsters for a living, pal. This wasn't my first rodeo.

[ His girlfriend is the most famous assassin in the galaxy, her mean smiles are scarier, but Ye Zun's was pretty intimidating too. ]

You look fantastic for your age. [ And being so old makes a few things about the man in front of him more clear to him. ] A mesh bag...got it. How many days should I leave it buried? [ See? He can pay attention when it matters and even be a good student. ]

I suppose we are lucky that so far the people in this city are more open-minded. I haven't heard of any real problems due to being from different worlds and species.

[ Ye Zun raises a hand in response, his smile turning softer, a little sweeter. Under the insane grins was a boatload of charisma and he was bringing it out, just a little. ]

I mean no disrespect; I didn't know if you had gone that way or another. I went back to the injured once my arrows ran out, and didn't pay too much attention to what the rest of you were doing. I'm more use to using powers instead of weapons, so my skills were worthless at that time.

[ Not really though. Ye Zun was quite able to stand toe-to-toe with most fighters, but he wasn't the kind of person who would do it just because. He always needed a reason to risk his own hide, even when he had been little more than a captive body. ]

Depending on the size... the smaller pieces would be fine after a couple weeks, but the larger the bone the more flesh it will have. At the most, I say about a month or so. After that, clean all the dirt and bugs away, let dry and then soak it in a brine to get rid of discoloration, unless you want to keep that.

From what I've read, this place is built out of wonder for life no matter what it may appear as.

[ That's enough to get Peter to relax. He's really not quick to anger but lately it felt as if everyone was doubting his abilities. His own guilt about what happened on Titan when they were fighting Thanos doesn't really help Peter's self-doubt. ]

It's fine. A lot was happening at once, it was difficult to keep track of everyone. And what kind of powers you had? [ He's genuinely curious now. He knows a very wide range of people with unusual powers, from sorcerers to talking trees, and it's never not fun to learn what they can do.

Peter and the rest of Guardians used to to be like that, only look after themselves. Hell, they were criminals before. But they did the right thing when it mattered, fighting Ronan, and since then they had turned their life around. Things are unpredictable like that sometimes. ]

The two teeth I have are pretty big but it's not like I'm on a rush. I'll leave them buried 3 weeks and check on how they're doing, then decide. I'm thinking about getting myself an automatic crossbow, the one I had broke down after the battle with the dragon.

Ah, sounds about right.

My people are able to manipulate dark energy. I'm not sure how to explain it, but most clans only can use it for certain things - for instance one clan can remove stains, another may be able to teleport through shadows. However my brother and I aren't that limited.

[ They were practically unstoppable save by each other, if he wanted to be honest. He learned powers by absorbing the essence of people, and his brother gained them by seeing it in action. And they both were able to manipulate their new-found abilities better than those that had them before. ]

Then again, we are old, so I suppose age does help us.

Do they make them here, or are you going to ask one of the other Wanderers for help?

That's explanation enough, don't worry. I've seen people across the galaxy manipulate energy in all sort of unusual ways...never to remove stains, though.

[ Do tell him more, please. Peter lost all his celestial powers with the death of his father and never regretted it but he always these kinds of things always sound fun to him.

Although, absorbing the essence of people sounds a bit like an evil power to have and far too close to what Ego did. ]

You don't look a day over 30, man.

They have crossbows but the basic ones made out of wood and metal.

It has it's uses.

[ Like keeping his white robes so white. He never had to explain to a cleaner all the bloodstains and soot stains this way.

Well. He was a bit on the evil overlord side of things, though it did have drawbacks. Like gaining a bit of the personality of those he has inhaled. So many mental problems that caused. ]

I think we're preserved by the energy we absorb.

That might take some work. I don't think it would be something we can just make appear without some serious planning.

It's really a shame that no one kept their powers after waking up in the city. Not like I have any, but it would have been useful for a lot of things to have people with powers around. Now I suppose we need to clean stains the old way, a shame.

[ He smiles at the last part, clearly meant as a joke.

Ye Zun, being an evil overlord only gives everyone headaches in the long run, you included. Why not use your powers for good? ]

Makes sense, like some sort of energy vampire.

I figured. I know how to build certain machines and weapons but I am used to the tools they have in my world and everything here is primitive in comparison. I miss using my Quad blasters.

My robes are already starting to look a little gray.

[ And he just pouts at a sleeve because how dare it. Someone please teach him the ways of stain removal, he just discovered the washing machines need to actively be set to work right.

Well. A headache until he eats them but yes. ]

Not exactly, but I understand what you mean.

Could you ask one of the gods about getting the right tools?

[ Fear no more friend, Peter knows how to use it. ]

The god houses come equipped with washing machines and soap you know. At least Tyr house does, you could come to clean your things here.

I meant no offense by that, by the way. I've got no beef with vampires, there are a lot of creatures in the galaxy that live off of blood or energy.

Oh, I do have the right tools, my ship has all the equipment...but without electricity, they're as good as a simple hammer. I can't even weld anything.

[ Someone did show him it once, but he doesn't understand this extra stuff. ]

I have found them and found how they work, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. I never needed to wash clothing before.

[ That might explain a few things about his race's origins since they so easily fell into using the dark energy of their adopted planet. That isn't exactly a normal trick, you know. ]

I find it refreshing to hear.
