[The screen flicks on to find a green woman sitting in a chair with bright, colorful hair worrying her hands. It's almost like she's nervous or something!! That can't be as she very calmly addresses the camera.] I have been told that certain events require announcements.

[She vaguely remembers her people doing the same once upon a time too. Gamora holds her head up high as she announces the rest.] I have accepted a great honor. My partner asked if I was willing to spend the rest of my life with him. I agreed to the proposal.

[She brings up her left hand to the camera so that everyone can clearly see this ring that contrasts sharply against the dark metal ones on her other fingers. ] Wearing this ring symbolizes my intent to honor our agreement. It is a custom of Earth. It is my understanding there is more to come after this, but I intend to honor those traditions as well even if I am not of that planet.

That is all. [She ends the feed there.]

[She toys with her ring.] I would hope this means he feels the same way.

It's proper. [So defensive!!!] A lady is supposed to announce her engagement to the people.

[Who could she be paraphrasing............who.........]

Is that so? [ The use of 'proper' was already making hims guess but when she used 'a lady' Peter had to stop himself squealing. He hides a smile behind a short cough. ]

And is there anything a gentleman must do in return for his lovely lady?

That's probably the most... [ what's the right word here? ] official sounding wedding announcement that I've ever heard. Congratulations.

[ even though mary lives on the benatar, she and gamora haven't really had many conversations. the green woman is kind of intimidating, even for mary. ]

Will there be a ceremony?

We haven't. [She remembers these things!!] Thank you for your well wishes. I intend to have a good time.

[That last part is awkward. She's making this up as she goes along. It's not like she spent much time as a person before this.]

Not laugh at her attempts to be proper. [Said flatly. She totally misunderstood that fake cough.]

Thank you. I wanted it to be official. [She tried so hard!!! It's really tough for her to be open with her feelings which is probably why everyone is lowkey intimidated. Whoops.] We haven't discussed it, but I would hope so. My people held ceremonies. I would like to do that in their honor.

.. um, his name is Peter, isn't it?

[ Just making sure! In case there's another green lady around with a sweet boyfriend, you never know in this place.. ]

He actually told me about you. And.. really, just from the way he spoke about you it was very obvious that he loves you so much.

[ Of course she did. ]

I'm not laughing! I'm just admiring this whole...display. It's very cute.

That is his name. [The rest visibly makes her melt. Gamora smiles softly. She loves that idiot.] He'll be a fine husband.

[It suddenly dawns on Gamora that she never asked for this:] I never asked for your name.

[amongfriends]

[She didn't give it. It's almost like Gamora spent her life as a weapon or something. ] Thank you. His name is Peter Quill. [Wryly,] You must be the only person here he hasn't befriended.

[amongfriends]

[She's visibly keysmashing in her brain. It takes a few seconds, but she gathers up enough dignity to protest this!!! Which in itself is adorable whoops.] I'm the deadliest woman in the galaxy. I am not "adorable" or "cute" during announcements. Or ever.

[momsboy]

Being deadly and adorable is not mutually exclusive.

[ Peter argues.

Peter is obviously very bad at arguing certain things. ]

Not ever, ever? I've seen you play with the cat.

[amongfriends]

I'm helping it keep up its natural hunting skills. [Even she barely believes that.]

[momsboy]

By making her chase around a toy feather on a stick? [ Nope. He's once again looking like he's about to laugh. Or like he wants to kiss her senseless. ]

I'll give you that, the cat's reflexes are good and the claws very sharp because she has already ruined 2 of my favorite shirts. I also think she needs a name.

[amongfriends]

It's.... helpful. [She barely gets that out. The cat's greatest skill is terrorizing the person her mom loves most and Gamora knows it. She sighs in defeat.]

You're right. She does need a name. Any suggestions?

[momsboy]

If you say so, my love. [ He won't argue further but as soon as he finds her, he's going to smooch Gamora until their lips are red and swollen. ]

Oh no, no...it's your cat. So it's your turn. If I did it, I'd probably name her after another singer from the 80's.

Name her after something you like? [ A pause as he reconsiders that. ] But don't name her after a fighting technique.

[amongfriends]

[Oh no :( what a terrible fate.......] You always make things difficult. [And yet she's not complaining.] Nebula? It's either that or a weapon.

[momsboy]

[ Heinous. Are you sure you want to marry this cruel man that will snuggle and cuddle you silly, Gamora?

He's tempted to stick his tongue out at that reply but Peter just scrunches up his nose rather cutesy instead. As if to say 'you love me still'.]

Nebula is a good one. The cat likes to ruin my clothes but I'm slowly getting her to like me, promise.

[ Is he, really. How many shirts need to be sacrificed first for that to happen, Peter? ]
