[Felicity's in the library, an old-fashioned pear shaped guitar in her lap. A few open books on the table before her.]

Is there anyone here able to play the guitar, possibly read music as well? I received my grandmother's guitar, but I only know a few chords. [Learning to play would also help her feel not so cooped up.] Payment could be in the form of baked goods.

[She wasn't so bored or desperate as to suggest needlework as payment.]

[ DID SOMEONE SAY MUSIC. ]

I can help you with that, Lissie. You don't need to pay me at all. [ He does have a sweet tooth but Peter is trying to watch himself. ]

You've got the guitar from Odin then?
momsboy: (Smirk ;))

Guitars are also easier to take care than horses. But I imagine you already have experience with that. Whats the horse's name?

Totally. If you need anything music related, I'm your man. And it's okay if I am offering, don't worry about it.

Its a fitting name them. I named my new dog Thor because he's also blond and big. Also has no respect for people's boundaries.

I have some other instruments at Tyr house, I asked the god to make me a few time ago, so I can also give you piano lessons if you want.

Yep, you got it in one. But I don't think friend is the right word for it. More like...reluctant teammates.

It's a spinet is a big wooden contraption with black and white keys...then yes?

[ Sorry Lissie, he doesn't know that word. ]
momsboy: (Oh that sounds amazing)

I do, I learned it ages ago. Music and I just go together. Just let me know what days we are free and we can schedule some sort of classes.

I'll teach you all the classics like "Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac.

[ That's a classic in Peter's opinion, all right. And it's actually fairly easy to play on a piano. ]

It's been a rather long while since I've touched an instrument-- [He hums softly at the idea.] but I could give it a shot, if you like. See what I remember. [A beat and he tips his head slightly to one side.] What sort of baked goods?
itchtokill: ({Plaid} Suspicious)

Do you know how to make beignets? [Mostly, he's just curious.]
itchtokill: (Oh so smirky bb)

It's a fried sort of pastry... it's French, technically.
itchtokill: (Is that a flash of nerves love)

I bet you could do it. It wouldn't be too terribly different from making bread. Pastry dough is just a bit lighter, mostly.

I never had cared much for music.

[Mainly because Sigurd enjoyed playing and Ivar decided to not like what his brother did out of sheer orneriness.]

But I wish you well in finding someone who can help you. Playing an instrument is a talent.
ragnarsson: ([17.35] Let's have a look)

Personal preference, I suppose, though there are many among the Norse who rather like it all.

Is it something to be done when you come of age then?

[Rather like the arm rings when the young boys become men at the age of twelve among his own people.]
ragnarsson: ([17.32] So who is this)

[personal profile] ragnarsson 2020-01-01 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
That is what my people are called. Others also call Vikings as well. [He nods.] We come from the North. In particular I come from Kattegat in Norway.

[He snickers at the mention of a suitor. That seemed like a foolish plan to him.] Playing music to gain the hand of someone? My, my, what will they think of next?
ragnarsson: (Laugh)

[personal profile] ragnarsson 2020-01-21 05:33 am (UTC)(link)
I have not heard of either of those.

[The Normans would descend from his uncle Rollo, but that wouldn't happen until long after Ivar's time, and France was still called Frankia in the 800s.

He snickers again, this time loud enough to be drawn out into a full laugh.]

This is all too true. One should play to their strengths when trying to find a suitable companion, not something that will never end well.
