[ for those familiar with reynir by now, he's still got that generally friendly air about him with the video starts, though there's something around his eyes that gives him a slightly weary quality as well, if you're looking for it.
but then, everyone's been a bit stressed lately, which is rather the point of this post. ]
I guess there's a neat little, um, program I think it's called? On these bracelets that people have been using to share music and stuff from their home worlds, and I think that's really nice! Being able to learn about other worlds, other people's lives... it's really important some times to just take a moment and enjoy those things, don't you think?
I don't have any... copies or whatever of music from back home, but I wanted to share something anyway. To show my appreciation for all the new things people have told me about or shown me since I got here. So I thought I'd sing an old lullaby I grew up with!
[ reynir has a pretty average singing voice overall, though there's an androgynous quality to his tone as he sings a song first in icelandic and then in english: ]
Sleep my little love,
Outside the rain is weeping.
Mommy keeps watch over your gold,
Old leg bones and a little treasure chest.*
Let's not stay awake through dark nights.
There is much that darkness knows,
My mind is heavy.
Often I've seen the black sand
Scorching green meadows.
In the glacier rumbles deadly-deep cracks.
Sleep long, sleep tight,
It's best to wake up late.
Hardship will teach you soon,
While the day becomes night,
That the people love, lose, cry and mourn.

True that, man. I'd much rather listen to the music in a different language than have it translated and sounding [a beat] wrong. Couldn't think of another word, so. [he shrugs.]
video;
[ reynir asks with a soft laugh, worn down to the fact that everyone finds the translation so disquieting in general and working himself around to being humorous about the whole thing instead. ]
video;
[which is why it's rude to bring it up again, sorry, reynir—] If you sing it to me in Icelandic, I swear, I'll fall right asleep.
video;
his cheeks are a bit pink, but his smile is sweet when he promises: ] I'll sing it whenever you like.
video;
Thanks, Reynir. [he flashes a smile, adjusts his position, doing his best to not jostle the cuff he's using while he props his chin up in the opposite hand.] I appreciate the hell outta you, just so you know.
video;
I'm so thankful for getting the chance to meet you here, Klaus, you're a wonderful friend!
video;
Aw, gee, you'll make me blush. [even if he's dismissively waving a hand afterward.] Me too, Reynir. If there's one thing I got out of coming here? It's awesome friends like you.

such as now, for instance, when he cheeks go bright red and his eyes a little misty from the compliment that he'd forced to duck his head to avoid making too much of a big deal about it. ]
It's... it's good to hear that, thank you.
video;
including now, even if seeing reynir getting teary-eyed makes klaus feel a little bad. causing someone to cry always feels odd, regardless of it being good at the time, but he still smiles in spite of himself because it does feel nice to know someone appreciates his friendship.]
Just speaking the truth, after all.
